Seattle starts another series with Baltimore tonight. Vargas is pitching for us tonight, and he's been probably the best pitcher out of the rotation as of late.
Hopefully Seattle can continue to gain ground on the rest of the west.

I know I'm probably one of the fewest amount of people caring about the now-completed Nate McLouth trade but here's another post:
Pittsburgh Pirates GM Neal Huntington wrote an e-mail to season-ticket holders in order to "explain his rationale" for the Nate McLouth trade
Huntington would add later on in the email that...
Not sure how I'd find the decision financially based when the team's payroll is $51 million or "$ 6 million more than a two year deal with Manny Ramirez."
Then again, it seems that they are almost afraid to spend money. I will now openly wonder if they'd still have Ryan Doumit if he hadn't got an injury.

This was the stupidest trade in years. He's basically saying that McLouth sucks.

According to the Boston Herald, the Red Sox have inquired about possibly trading for...*takes deep breath*...Oakland's Orlando Cabrera, Washington's Christian Guzman, Milwaukee's J.J. Hardy, Pittsburgh's Jack Wilson, Texas' Omar Vizquel, San Diego's Adrian Gonzalez and Washington's Adam Dunn. I'd kill for Adrian Gonzalez...but I still don't know if this Mets team can contend or if it's better to wait for 2010. By the way, I don't think A-Gonz will be traded. Take him, I wouldn't have to hear the "It's time to vote adrian for the all star game, forget the rest of the team or who you would want to vote for, vote for HIM only" while they have "vote for adrian" buttons all over the park, while meanwhile he's one of the most boring interviews, along with the rest of the team, none of them want to be there, and adrian is more the "big guy with a homerun swing" who can't do anything else, I like the all around guys better.

He only hits homers? I guess that gold glove defense I've been seeing of him is a mirage. 110+ RBI's must be boring too

Well i mean you never see him bloop a hit and run the bases, or bunt the guys over or hit a ball into the gap and run around, it's always either a home run or a fly out, or they intentionally walk him.
edit: and the hate has a lot to do with the broadcasts too, if they treated him like a guy on the team who the people liked, etc it'd be one thing, but they are pushing him on us "like him!" and it's more of a "I can decide for myself who i want to like, not who you say to like" thing, where I like eckstein and gywnn jr on the team, two more all around guys, (except for when gywnn came here, they all acted like the team's savior had come just because of his name), but all game long, they're doing "vote for adrian for the all star game, he's only in 5th place on the voting because we're in a west coast small market!" (exact words from the team). He's not a bad player, but he's not super awesome either, he's just hyped far and above the rest of the team, and it gets annoying watching the games

Would you rather see him get bloop hits or lay down bunts? Sure, he's not hitting as many doubles, but he averaged 39 over the last three seasons. He's hitting more bombs because his HR/FB % is a staggering 34%. That number should eventually come down and the number of doubles should rise.

Him bunting might be a little paul o'neill in 1990, good once in a while as a surprise and a "well if they;ll do this with the homerun hitter..." ploy, and as much as a rag on him, peavy has one of the better/best bunts on the team like his one last night

He could fall to the mets. VERY raw but has 5 tool potential. Oh and I will be having an AIM chat that will open sometime between 5:30 EST and 5:50 EST. Name will be MLBdraftWC09

Not to be the pessimistic that I can be, but I read that the Pirates are considering using their 1st Round Pick on Tony Sanchez from Boston College and the only reasons I've read as to why is that he will sign quickly and he will be cheap.

I've heard Sanchez is pretty much a done deal from what I've heard.

Did Tom Hicks already sell the Rangers and go buy the Pirates?

That's a name I haven't heard in a long time. I really liked Ruben when he was with Seattle

I've heard Sanchez is pretty much a done deal from what I've heard. I've seen him mentioned on many mock drafts, but I have hopes that they'll realize that they need better pitching. Part of my hopes that they'll consider Aaron Crow, but what do I know, right?
