It does seem like the WWE association is just something pondered and not blamed; a child performing a wrestling move is them immitating wrestling, a child jumping off a building is as much a comparison to Batman, Spiderman, Superman etc as it is wrestling, and certain films and characters can't be blamed. snork Nevermind, there are times when certain things shouldnt be said. You're pathetic. Go watch wrestling or attention seek somewhere else you sad, sad woman. Fine i apologise for the remark, im sorry that i offended you all.

It's always sad when something like this happens. You can't blame the game/wrestling. Anybody that's ignorant enough to believe that something they see on TV or in a game is perfectly fine for them to do should NOT have been watching in the first place. One could blame the kid. One could blame the parents. At the end of the day, it's a screwed up situation and a tragic event. Him being 9 doesn't justify his thinking. When I was 9, I knew jumping off a roof would not have a good outcome. Then again, I'm a completely different person with a mind that works in a different way.
I've said it a million times. The WWE needs to PLASTER the "Don't try this at home" video/logo all over EVERY telecast/videogame. An event like this isn't their fault, but they damn sure could do more to get the message across.
Regardless, things like this happening really bring you down. It's a growing problem all over the world. People see something they think is cool and try to be cool themselves. Just look at the idiots on YouTube or Break.com. People try all kinds of stunts simply to get themselves on the internet. Usually, it ends quite badly. It just goes to show you how far we've fallen as a society.

The story is sad, but I gotta say, I agree with Skye.
The kids an idiot.
Even at nine you should know you can't fly. And his friends are even more so. Because I don't recall ever seeing anyone from the game try to jump off a building, or anything higher than say, of, 5 feet, certainly not 10 stories.
It is a horrific loss for the family, but, what's true is true.

You know what, lets put the blame right where it f***ing belongs. On the parents and on the building owner. The stupid f***in' parents should have told the boy not to try things he sees on TV or video games. The building owner should have fixed the alarm/lock on the door.
Yeah mom & dad, your son died because you were too f***ing stupid to teach your kid about life.

The stupid f***in' parents should have told the boy not to try things he sees on TV or video games. And how exactly do you know that they didn't? Show me a kid that's never gone against their parents and I'll show you the perfect kid.

It's a little depressing to see people react so defensively to anything that might, through some six-degrees of separation chain, negatively effect public perception of wrestling that they have to immediately stick the blame on anything and everything else. The article doesn't blame wrestling, the parents don't blame wrestling. People need to relax instead of going after a dead nine year old, or his parents.

It's a little depressing to see people react so defensively to anything that might, through some six-degrees of separation chain, negatively effect public perception of wrestling that they're interested in attacking that they have to immediately stick the blame on anything and everything else. The article doesn't blame wrestling, the parents don't blame wrestling. People need to relax instead of going after a dead nine year old, or his parents. I don't think anybody's trying to come to the defense of wrestling here... there's really nothing to defend... you say that yourself. This is tragic, to be sure... but, we are discussing it on a pro-wrestling board... hardly a "serious" place On another note (not directed to the quoted post) ... the sanctimony in here is absurd. We're just too quick to be offended.

I'm going to attempt a Shooting Star Press off of a 20 story building, it's okay though because I'm going to pad my landing with a cardboard box filled with Styrofoam peanuts.

Sad story but the blame isn't with "Jeffing Harding", what TERRIBLE news reporting, or the WWE it's with the parents for not telling there kid to not jump out of the window of there aparment building. It makes sense.
Also the kid was wearing a parachute, he was pretending to be "army man" and do a millitary jump and not a "Swan Dive"

..ok, obviously he thought he could save himself from a nasty fall..
obviously it was jeff hardy, and the smackdown game. wwe may not be the fault but he still imitated him.

Why not go after his parents? A nine year old child is THEIR responsibility.
