This is your chance to nitpick your favorite games.
How come in Chrono Trigger, the main character has the least backstory.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl: The ability to trip, clones and some character choices. Banjo Tooie: Not enough defenition in areas. DK 64: BACKTRACKING. So much backtracking.

Ocarina of Time - "HEY! LISTEN!" Yes, Navi, I am going to Death Mountain right now. Shut the hell up.
GTA IV - You know, if I want to hang out with friends, I'll contact them myself. And why aren't there proper mid-mission checkpoints? At least The Lost and Damned fixed both of these problems...
Persona 4 - I miss the weapon fusion feature from P3 FES. Plus, I liked it better when Homunculus only protected the main character from insta-death spells.
Shenmue II - Ghost Hall Building.
Mass Effect - The UNC assignment locations are all the same, which gets tedious after a while.
Silent Hill Homecoming - Wait, that ten-second cutscene there was the ending? The BEST ending? (okay, maybe this isn't a great game, but I liked it. Also, the endings are a minute long or so, they just feel like they're much shorter)

Bomb Jack When you would try to jump to the top of the screen and halfway up Jack would stop.

Command & Conquer 3: Why must I research the same things on every level to use them. Once I have researched the 'rail gun' I should not have to do it again. That's a like Surgeon being forced to go back to Med School before every operation he does.
Fallout 3: I'm not going to spoil the ending but: Fawkes is immune to radiation! Anyone that has played will know what I'm talking about.
LittleBigPlanet: This is for the LBP community: Enough with the levels based on Mario and Metal Gear Solid.

Every Final Fantasy game ever: insurmountable waist-high fences.
Vampire, The Masquerade - Bloodlines: That goddamn door near the end that doesn't open like every other door and confused every single person who ever played that game, to the point some people created a patch to get rid of the lock.
Rayman: being forced to have broken open EVERY cage in the game, including the hidden and near-unreachable ones, to be allowed to go to the last stage.
Metal Gear Solid series: endless respawning of enemies when they spot you. How fast do they make these clones?!
Oh and, the killer cigarettes of doom. You'd think special cigarettes made to quit smoking would be less dangerous than regular ones, but no. I guess it's scare tactic. Quite smoking NOW or you'll die in the next five minutes.
Starfox / Starwing: Slippy.
Tekken 5: Way too many tuxedos as alternate attires for the male characters. Come on, Namco! Be creative!
Condemned: some doors can be destroyed with an axe. The key word here is "some." Why doesn't it work on ALL of them?! That makes even less sense than the usual "unbreakable wooden doors" deal!
Most GTA games: The main character can survive a fall off a 20 story building, but will drown if their feet do as little as touching the water.

Wild Arms' in battle 3D graphics are atrocious, especially jarring in comparison to the beautiful 2D map graphics.
also, the last 1/3 of Chrono Cross is nigh incomprehensible mind-f***ery that'd leave Grant Morrison scratching his head.

I have another one for that game, LOAD TIMES! oh and Fallout 1: The time limit. Why would you put a time limit in an RPG like that?! Persona 3: Having to talk to your party members in order to change their equipment. Thankfully they fixed this problem in 4, but still. Super Robot Taisen OG Saga - Endless Frontier: The marathon of bosses that would happen frequently. Hey you just fought that one boss that took out like half your inventory, good for you, now here's ANOTHER boss that's harder and is in the very next room!

I have another one for that game, LOAD TIMES! Heh, they don't bother me that much, not to mention that once a new area is loaded, you can explore whole mansions without going to another map. I mean, many video games, especially in the survival-horror genre, seem to have one map per room, and of course each one needs to be loaded and therefore cut the gameplay (Silent Hill games and early Resident Evil games are especially bad with that).

Clock Tower 3: The inability to aim your bow during boss battles. That was a serious pain in the balls.
