Just heard this. Not a real NFL fan but that Titans-Rams Super Bowl was amazing. Though Steve's team came up short, both teams played out of their minds
RIP Steve.

that Titans/Rams Super Bowl is one of my favorites
McNair let it all hang out on every play in every game he ever played
he played the game the way you should all out on every play with no short cuts
RIP

I remember in the 2003 season, he missed practice for 2 weeks straight with nagging injuries and still was able to play and win those games. The highlight from his career was the last drive of Super Bowl 34 almost sending the game into over.
Steve McNair found dead... listed as probable for next game! God bless you Air McNair!

How many more of these are we going to do? This is a really tragic story and my deepest condolenses to his family. It's just one shocking death after another. It's getting exhausting.

Some are suggesting that McNair killed the girl and then killed himself. Really hope it did not go down like that.

That would make this the NFL version of the Benoit tragedy. You wouldn't think that would be the case here as McNair was always a class act and never seemed to be in any trouble off the field. Also, the police changed it from Murder/suicide to a double homicide, so I don't think there's anything to that other than rumors.

I'm not rooting for it to be the case or anything, but, everyone would have said the same thing about Benoit being a class act before he did what he did.

Any updates on this? If it turns out McNair was the perpetrator the NFL could have their very own Chris Benoit, complete with months of coverage from Nancy Grace.

I'll be the first one to admit that I never take peoples deaths that I don't know to heart but this one is really hitting home. Watching him threw out his career and what he was made of is hard not to respect a player like that.

I found out about this at my aunt's house after we went to church. Obviously, I'm shocked about what happened. I really don't want to speculate on what happened yet, so I'll wait for details to come up. Still, I feel bad for both families regardless of the details.

Wow, that one really hit the bull's eye for me. I'm as big of a football fan as you can be outside of the USA and really liked the guy but the whole things about the police withholding information doesn't seem to indicate any good things. I'm just hoping for this ending not as bad as in versions mentioned beforehand in this thread. RIP Steve.

So I see July is starting off where June ended. Just got home from work and turned on ESPNnews and my jaw hit the floor when I heard about McNair. He was something special. RIP
