As long as Gail is enjoying the money I suppose it's all good for her.
In a way I am relieved they're not pushing her immediately like her first WWE run. Let her job a bit. And like that report said, she needs to find her niche in the company. Perhaps make her a valet for someone on Smackdown! Granted valetting hasn't helped Katie and Natalya's match prospects but at least it still gives them TV time. Gail needs a guy to latch onto, and hopefully she can build from there.

Gail's push would slip even more if they gave her mic time. Her voice is excruciating.

Women's wrestling just doesn't work. That's not be being sexist it's looking at over ten years of what has been the longest snooze-fest in history. When are people going to realise that when 3,000 people stand up to have a piss or buy a hotdog and the only people interested are little teenage boys too embarrassed to stand up for what's sticking out the front of their pants, that it DOES NOT WORK. Blame creative all you want but with the odd exception of an occasional talent getting over e.g Trish, I don't think anyone can argue with any conviction that the Diva's/Woman's division in WWE has ever been anything more than a complete waste of time and only slightly better than intermission music. Maybe you should stop taking piss breaks during diva matches yourself, and you'd see that there are some of them who put on enjoyable matches that the fans are in to. Besides doesn't diva segments have some of the best ratings when they break it down?

Honestly, Gail hasn't worked with anyone good. She hasn't put on a good showing, but neither have her opponents.
As much praise as Maryse gets, she absolutely sucks in the ring. Her taunts are the best part of her matches.
McCool is so boring, from her theme song her finisher. She makes people want to head for the bathroom when she performs.
Put Gail against Mickie or Jillian, maybe she could have a good match, but I still think that most of these divas need alot of work, which explains why there are alot of multiple diva tag matches going on, because none of them could hold the crowd's attention like Trish/Lita/Chyna/Victoria have.

From what I've been seeing on Smackdown! Gail Kim is getting a good reaction...This isn't going to be like Christian, that everyweek, we are going to get stories that Gail isn't getting pushed, when in reality, she is doing alright.

I have a hard time believing her TNA income would be a fraction of what the WWE is paying her. I'm certain it's significantly more but I can't see WWE overspending to bring her in. If they had to pay a ton more it means she doesn't want to be there and they shouldn't want her. Why do that? The only way I can see it is the conspiracy-theorists are right and WWE was willing to overspend just to hurt the knockouts division.

I really think that when it's all said and done, Gail will find herself back in TNA. I don't blame her for wanting to see if another WWE stint would be what she needed to break through, but I can't see her accomplishing anything more than the other Divas who have already been in WWE for years and haven't broken through.

It's not so much that WWE offered so much, but TNA apparently SEVERELY lowballed her when they offered a new contract. She was one of the most over acts in TNA, and the ratings showed that as well. And TNA rewarded her with what was said to be a very insulting offer.

How long did she sign a contract for?
She should have stayed in TNA. They offered her less money, but they were smart in not overpaying her b/c they could just as easily plug in someone else in that spot (ironically, seems like they are turning Kong face). I believe they also signed Sarah Stock, so it looks like they have moved on.
This is also a testament to how good Kong is. Her feud with Kong is what got Gail noticed and she parlayed that into a big money deal with WWE. Now that she doesn't have a Kong in WWE, she's slowing being exposed. Gail is the prototypical "defy all odds" babyface. She's an excellent bumper and made Kong look like a million bucks. She doesn't have that, especially if she's in a match against McCool.
And as for Maryse, she wasn't over on Smackdown, and she's not over on RAW. I think 20% of the RAW audience watches Smackdown, or something like that, so no one knows who she is.

All joking aside, Maryse is actually starting to get over. I've been hearing that for months but I'm not hearing a reaction that indicates it. Mickie is over. Melina is over. Kelly is over. Beth is sorta over. Maryse? Not over. How long has Maryse been around though? Less than a year. She's not over now but I think she will be. Plus the crowd is full of idiots. SO THEY GET THE HAND. I agree that Gail will probably end up back in TNA.

I went to Lockdown fanfest a few weeks ago and she got no reaction when introduced and had absolutely no line. Kinda makes you wonder where their priorities lie. As I said, Gail really wanted to stay in TNA, but WWE gave her a sweet deal. When push comes to shove, Gail will be back in TNA sooner or later.

The one they're trying to make the focal point of an Main Event Mafia feud between Nash and Booker? Yeah, even the crickets take a piss break for her.

The writing was on the wall when they signed her in August, and she didn't debut until like a week before Wrestlemania or whenever it was. It didn't take long for her just to be another diva in a roster full of them.
Did it suck that TNA lowballed her? Yeah, probably. But she had a comfortable spot, could have done some Indy dates to compensate for the loss in money, and she would have been fine.

WWE is habitual in its failure to properly introduce new/new-ish talent. If Christian hadn't been Christian, he would be floundering right now instead of the ECW Champion. Look at how they've handled R-Truth. He hasn't done squat since being brought back. Gail Kim was given a "Generic" return. They should've at least attempted to do something special for her. They expect a person to get over with absolutely no direction or character? When will they learn that THEY are the ones that have to put forth some kind of effort? Talent can only work with what they're given. Bring Trish back and have her wrestle meaningless matches with McCool and interest in her would tank faster than Braden Walker's WWE career. And let's not forget about Colt Cabana. He has LIMITLESS potential in today's "kid-friendly" WWE and they blew it.
Mickie is over because she was properly introduced and had a great angle with Trish. Beth is over because of her presence combined with good booking. Melina is over because she was a damn good valet for MNM and has one helluva entrance. Kelly^2 is over because she was actually given character development in ECW alongside Mike Knox, The Miz, and that angle with Balls Mahoney. Fans were given a REASON to care about them. Divas like McCool, Fox, Maryse, Rosa, Eve, Layla, & Gail Kim have been given basically nothing to work with. Fans have zero reason to even bother with them.
WWE, you have GOT to do better than this if you're going to bother with Women's wrestling. Can't believe I'm saying this, but take hints from TNA. At least their Knockouts have some kind of character & direction to work with.

I also enjoy that it's being decided basically a couple months into Gail being back that she either sucks or should have stayed in TNA.
No matter how poorly she's used, the increase in pay was worth it for her.

No matter how poorly she's used, the increase in pay was worth it for her. It's worth it if she saves her money and doesn't get fired. The latter could happen. She could be future endeavored tomorrow and just see her downside guarantee for 3 months.

Unless of course she's a serious mark for herself and forgets it's a business that is about making money.

The best thing to do is to give the belt to someone who IS more over and IS more talented, and give Maryse a steady push. But I don't think it's really fair to defend her by attacking the crowd, true as it might be...

My source overheard this backstage exchange that may explain everything:
John Cena: Hey, Vince, would you like some bananas? Vince McMahon: "No, thank you, I don't like ASIANS."

This sucks. Give her a mic and let her talk. Or let her do some crazy spots. These can work. Then again, Diva division is pointless. Good lord, don't do that.
