*Naruto and Bleach. I'll admit that I haven't seen an episode, but I view them as trying to be the next DBZ, in terms of popularity. Never seen a whole episode of Bleach, but I've seen clips of it, and I have to agree that it's a DBZ wannabe. Naruto is as well, but I read the first four volumes of the manga before giving up on the bad storytelling. Sorry, I just cannot be fooled into sympathizing with a complete monster like Zabuza, and honestly believing that the heroes were holding back earlier, which makes earlier encounters with him meaningless. And I have a "rule of 3" when trying anything out, and when three of the four volumes clearly swerved me by the next volume, I learned my lesson with volume four that the writer evidently couldn't keep his stories straight. Maybe he's gotten better, but I like to start from the beginning, and four volumes was enough beginning for me. I haven't even bothered with the anime. The only Dragonball-inspired manga I've read that I like (haven't read too many though) is One Piece (so far, I just recently got into it), because (at least so far) it doesn't seem to be trying to outdo Dragonball, but is just doing its own thing (once again, so far) and is fun. Granted that may be because it is clearly more inspired by Dragonball rather than Dragonball Z, which Bleach is clearly more inspired by, while Naruto is sort of inbetween. Ditto, and I'm really not impressed.

In my defense, it's not so much being a non-conformist as it is the fact that I am genuinely puzzled by the things I posted.

I don`t get Synchronised swimming Since when is THAT popular?! I was going to take it out when I noticed that the title said popular, but decided that it stays in on the grounds that it`s an olympic sport.

There's too many to list. But the pants-wetting for Twilight just pisses me off. Guess I'm getting old, you sunsahbitches!

I then point out that the vampires on TRUE BLOOD actually have character and aren't whiney, sparkly, frosted haired douchebags. Oh, and above all else, that Sookie Stackhouse OWNS Bella MarySue as a good female lead.

Uggs. I mean, really...these chicks strutting around in a tank top and booty shorts, and a pair of pink Uggs? Looks ridiculous.

Guitar Hero/Rock Band.
Um, for all the time you spent mastering Dragonforce on Hard, you could have bought a real guitar and learned how to play barre chords.

No offence or anything, but some people just like playing the games. I think they're very fun. I know quite a few people who DO play guitar and still really enjoy the games. To each, his own.

All of the vampires have complex characters and none of them are whiny.

The current vampire fad
Whatever the hell you hear on KISS FM (Why is this tish popular?)
Wannabe gang bangers (Living in Los Angeles I see way too many of these.)
Halo online (Single player Halo is all right, but playing against a legion of reality impaired dorks and obnoxious 13-year olds is mind numbing)
Non-Ricky Bobby Sacha Baron Cohen (Asshole, go away)

Here's something I can't understand the popularity of, Cricket. Seriously, what's going on here and why are people cheering? It's like Blurnsball to me. Man, you gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket!

I won a wii at one, and met my boyfriend at one, so I'm a little biased toward thinking guitar hero is awesome I dont get the love for Borat/Bruno. Ive only seen clips of Borat, and i thought it was the least funny thing I've seen since Napoleon Dynamite! Facebook. Everyone assumes I would love facebook because I have a myspace. No, I only have a myspace to talk to JD, I don't want a facebook, and I wish everyone would stop trying to make me get one. Same deal with Twitter.

Oh i love these....
Cell Phone/smart phone and anything to do with them - seriously? Ok, the whole ring tone thing is stupid and the guy who thought of that is laughing to himself on top of a pile of hundred dollar bills. Really? When someone calls you, do you really need to hear "Soldier Boy?" Texting is really another way for the phone companies to get your money. Maybe an "I love you" from the wife is ok, but really? do you need to text a whole conversation ALL THE TIME? And while driving too? And those "smart" phones...why again? Most people who own them (people under the age of 25) only have them for taking pictures of their friends puking or standing there in short shorts.
American Idol - how is this still on?
MTV - All they did was bash Michael Jackson for YEARS, the same man who put their little channel on the map. And then he dies, and I'm willing to bet someone on the board said this..." wow, he's dead...lets boost our ratings and play MJ songs ALL DAY!!" and plus, MTV is what is wrong with the world today. Kids see the bling and the women and think, I need to put out and look like trash to get anywhere.
Kid Rock - Is he even popular outside of Michigan? We michiganders really REALLY like him....
