Could somebody explain who Black Mask is? I saw him mentioned in the TDK poster tread and have no idea who people are talking about. Long story short, he's a crime lord/criminal strategist that wears an ebony mask carved to look like a skull. He's more interesting than that, but it's a long history I don't feel like recounting. He also resents Bruce Wayne because Bruce bailed his company out when Black Mask had sent a cosmetic to market without proper testing and people got hurt, and he was furious. It's sort of like HUSH's story in the regard he was supposed to know Bruce as a kid, but to be honest, neither has that great of a backstory.

Except unlike Hush Black Mask doesn't suck and wasn't hamfisted into the bat mythos.

Just saying they were comparable in that regard, being past friends on one level or another.

I still think that Two Face deserves a whole movie, with him bringing up the gangs and whatnot. I don't think Nolan is done with him at all

That would be awesome. People say that Dent is dead... well yeah, of course he is. But Two-Face isn't. I feel as if he was built up really big, only to have a short time as two face in the film. I feel that the third movie should have him in it, along with the Riddler, like others have been saying.

I so want Nolan gone from these movies so we can drop this whole realism bulls***. I take it you preferred the schlock of BATMAN AND ROBIN? I'm down with Nolan myself, and am not even close to willing to sacrifice the quality he brings for the crap that someone else might bring to the table, merely for the sake of seeing a few characters I can live without. I like Clayface and Freeze as much as the next guy, but if having GOOD Batman movies means I don't get to see them, then so be it. There are still PLENTY of kick ass characters Nolan can use without getting away from the style he likes. Characters like Catwoman, The Penguin, Bane, Killer Croc (if he was done as he was in the JOKER graphic novel) Harley, Ivy (think eco-terrorist) Two-Face, The Riddler, Black Mask, and even Zzazz.

Well, I think they decided to cut loose more in Dark Knight, like with the Skyhook, it'll probably relax more in the next. I don't get how Bane would be hard to do realistically. I guess I forgot steroids were imaginary?

Nothing far-fetched about it. And to clarify...what I meant was not to attack the poster who hates Nolan, but to point out that it's a give and take deal. So they get rid of Nolan. Who do you THINK they're gonna bring on? Who ELSE can guarantee that kind of Box Office in this day and age? I can think of only maybe ONE director. Michael Bay. Let that sink in for a second. ;D

Batman would run in slow-mo a lot and there would be a ton of explosions. Then Linkin Park would start singing over his climatic battle against a Penguin that has been reimagined at a disgraced rapper.

Because I don't like Nolan's realistic take on Batman that MUST mean I liked Batman & Ronin! Uh huh, no way you just made a stupid leap in logic there. And to bad Nolan has all ready said Penguin, Catwoman, and Killer Croc *I hated the Joker comic BTW except for the art* are to unrealistic. Hell, were not even gonna get any form of Robin or Batgirl, all because Nolan has this stupid idea of realism. Give me Iron man over any of the Nolanverse stuff.

A few things I have to say:
We're not getting Robin or Batgirl FOR NOW. Because Christian Bale is playing a YOUNG Batman. There's no reason for him to have a sidekick when he's the young hero himself.
And for the record, Rorschach, Zsasz was in the first movie as a prisoner. Just read the nametags. He has a mildly significant role: He's the guy that Rachel tases when the gas goes off.

No, you just about admitted that you hate realism. I gave you the utmost example of cartoonish extravagance related to Batman that I could think of. It had ALL the characters you're bitching about Nolan keeping from us, after all. And HOOO BOY, was it EVER unrealistic. So where was the stupid leap in logic? It wasn't stupid, if anything, it was extreme, I'll grant you that. But if was far from stupid. Maybe the problem was that you couldn't follow it? You didn't understand what I was driving at? I mean, I understand where you're coming from. I have the same problem with the James Bond series right now as you apparently do with Nolan's Batman. I liked Bond with all his tech and gadgets and his outlandish enemies. This new Bond is too emo for me, and he's just too damn much like Jason Bourne for my liking. But that's not to say that the movies haven't been quality. They just haven't felt like James Bond films to me....I remember Bond films as being FUN and thrilling, and a bit lighthearted....not so damn dour and dull and gray and serious.
