No, sorry... The answer we were looking for was DX. DX... Why do you constantly find insulting, petty-sounding ways in which to bring Triple H into discussions that he has absolutely nothing to do with? I'm always curious what causes that kind of disdain for another person. Did he wrong you in some way?

Jarrett, Hall, and Nash. The REAL Kings of Wrestling! A hick, a cripple, and an alcoholic were the kings? Jesus Christ, pro wrestling really is going to hell... Indeed, good times good times.

Also, it was cool, when Steiner did his Run In Thursday, that he was reluctant to attack Petey. Good continuity TNA! Maybe Petey will join the MeM in short order. I thought that was neat when I saw it. Especially since the spoilers said that he did attack Petey. Thank you. I thought I was going crazy because I read the samething. I kept waiting for him to hit Petey but it never happen. But when Sting came into the ring, Poppa pump was choking someone and I couldn't tell who it was.

I say Petey will join them eventually. Same with Jarrett and Christian. When Sting and Foley were talking about something huge in TNA's future, they were talking about the size of this stable :-P

It's not a poor man's anything. I know I cannot be alone in being offended at the seemingly un-ending references to everything TNA being "a poor man's..." I have heard Bobby Rhoode was a poor man's Debiase. Eric young is a poor man's Eugene (well eh..maybe) the point is I like the MEM angle and I believe it stands alone. It isn't the millionare's club, the NWO or DX. As mentioned previously they aren't invading a promotion, nor are they pissing on the history of the biz nor are they being scrwed by evil promoters and fighting back against the young upstarts employed by said evil promoters (that was pretty much the whole millionare's club v new blood deal)
Bottom line it's not a poor man's anything

Well, to be fair... Almost everyone and his or her mother* was in the nWo at one time. *See: Buff Bagwell I think that was actually the height of Bagwell's career. Being a part of the nWo made him a mid-card staple and he was one of the most over guys in WCW

Vicsious and Deliscious was a solid tag team. Bagwell and Norton started getting over and god knows we couldn't have Nsh, Hall and Syxx the tag champs threatened by another NWO team that GASP!!! Actually showed up to work Nitro
To Hall's credit he did work more than Nash

If it's "poor," can it really be considered a Millionaire's Club? How about Sam's Club? I gotta give a kudos there. That made me grin.

I'm always curious what causes that kind of disdain for another person. Did he wrong you in some way? Ummm... DX was a stable of wrestlers who acted like juveniles, found strength in numbers, spraypainted their logo as a way of marking their territory and eventually took over the company. Oh yeah; and Vince created them as his own, personal, yet slightly different version of the nWo. And, compared to WCW and Ted Turner at the time, Vince was a poor man. So, your man-crush on Terra Ryzin' aside; WHY am I not allowed to make this comparison?

Someone mentioned The Kings of Wrestling...
I believe that was the first unsuccessful attempt at something like the Main Event Mafia. It was unsuccessful because the point of the group was too similar to the NWO. I remember Kevin Nash(in poor acting) saying something like "We want your jobs and we're taking over." The takeover idea has been done. Done before so this MEM probably wouldn't have benefited from that plotline. Glad they didn't use it.

Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero?? Haha, no, I meant the one Jarrett used to have, what was that one called? Where a bunch of veteran wrestlers tried to keep the belt on Jarrett for absolutely no explainable reason? No, that's the booking committee.

no because of one basic difference: the nWo wanted to take over WCW and the Main Event Mafia wants respect

All I know is I'm not a sting fan...but he looks bad ass in a suit and sunglasses. If he's stop calling himself Sting or being referred to as Sting, the angle would be way more badass than it is right now. Every "shoot" they've aired since Sting came back to TNA has pointed out he's Steve Borden without the makeup, so how about "Steve Borden - pissed off world champ in a sharp friggin' suit." That's so much more MeM than a guy who used to wear clown makeup. Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, all real names... and then there's Sting.
