Who else is psyched for this game? I just got the demo tonight and it's SO much fun. It's not exactly the most complicated fighter out there...but it's not supposed to be. It's ridiculously pretty and fun and the character selection is great.
I cannot wait. I'm pondering preordering it even though it comes out the 25th.

He is. He's even in the demo, and a whole lot of fun to play as. And you can transform from Dark Knight to Paladin mid-battle. So great.

I haven't decided yet.
The last Square fighting game I can remember was Ehrgiez. And that game was AWESOME.
I'm definitely willing to give this a chance. But when this is out, I'll be back at college, so my money flow will be dead. So earliest I'll see this is Christmas.

It was made by the Tobal team, and those games were also great, so yeah. This is nothing like Ehrgeiz, but that totally doesn't make it bad.

Hell yes. I've been waiting for this for ages. It's like my dream game. It doesn't come out here 'till next month, though. I can't wait much longer!

I just can't wait for this game. It looks brilliant. BTW Dude, since you've played the demo, how does it work? Are the controls the same as a normal fighter? Is it like Ergheiz (considering you can apparently move in all 3 dimensions)? Is it closer to an RPG? Are there summons? Is there magic? TELL ME I MUST KNOW GOOD GOD I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS GAME EVER SINCE I BOUGHT A PSP.

My friend bought the Japanese version a long time ago, and based on what he showed me, this game alone almost makes me want to get a PSP, especially since only in this game can I kill Sephiroth with Kefka.

TELL ME I MUST KNOW GOOD GOD I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS GAME EVER SINCE I BOUGHT A PSP. As far as the controls and perspective go...if you've played any of the DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi games on the PS2, they work something like that. The camera is behind you and you lock on to your opponent. You do move in all three dimensions, and the controls are pretty much nothing like a normal fighter. You have two attack buttons, one to wear down their bravery with physical attacks (hard to explain concept...look it up XD), and the other one to actually wear down their HP...generally magic or some sort of special attack. A lot of the combat is aerial based, as you can jump twice, knock your opponent around, and dash toward them without ever touching the ground. You can also use pretty much all of the scenery as platforms and stuff. And there are these little glowy things around some levels that you can grind around on. It's super neat. And there's also these things called EX cores that fill your EX meter, and when that's full you go into EX mode, and can do your finisher, basically. For each character it's different, i.e.: Terra turns into an esper and f***s shit up, Cloud and Sephiroth have limit breaks (Omnislash and Super Nova, respectively), Onion Knight transforms into various jobs you could take in FFIII and then you select job-specific commands from a menu, and...well, I haven't done Cecil's yet, but I will later on. Either way, it's a REALLY fun game. I love it.

BTW, do you get to customize the characters? Like, buy weapons, armors, accessories, etc?

Fan service my ass. Where the hell is Ultros?! Maybe he never got that gambling debt under control. Doesn't really look like my cup of tea. It looks like it would get old quickly. *ducks tomatoes*
