Well I promised, so I shall deliver. The rules are the same as the last one really, though I may cut down a little on votes required since that seemed to slow things down in my last one. But anyway, just like before I have selected another 192 Genesis titles and configured them into a random order, triples threats all around for the first round of course. After that we'll go back to traditional one on one bouts for the remainder of the tournament.
Now just like last time, I won't reveal exactly who all is in this tournament, though I will say that all of the usual suspects should be there. Along with a few surprises and... admittedly some returning competitors from the previous tournament.
And once things have concluded... I've also contemplated pitting the winner of the SNES game tournament against the victor of this one, to see who is victorious between the two.
But yeah, the first match will be up momentarily. Who will survive?! We shall see.

Alright. Let's get this thang going. Our opening contest! Shinobi 3: Return of the Ninja Master (1993) Developed and published by Sega Shinobi 3 was originally set to be released in 1992. Several gaming magazines (including GamePro, Mean Machines SEGA and Computer & Video Games) gave previews and even reviews of the game, showing pictures of levels, enemies, artwork and special moves which were not seen in the final version at all. Because of being unsatisfied with the result, Sega had put the game back into development to heavily improve it and delayed its release until 1993. When Shinobi 3 was finally released, a lot of game features seen earlier were missing, while new ones had come in place. A beta-version of the original version of the game has been leaked and is now widely available as a ROM image. vs Fatal Fury 2 (1994) Developed and published by Takara The two line battles from the first Fatal Fury has been retained. This time, the player can change freely between either lines by pressing the Light Punch and Light Kick buttons simultaneously for the Line Move. The player can also perform a Super Power Attack that will knock the opponent to the other line. When the opponent is another line, the player can press either punch button to jump towards the opponent with a Low Light Move Attack or either kick button for a High Line Move Attack. Certain stages have hazards in the background line, such as electrified wires or a stampede of bulls, and thus the player cannot change lines, but can knock the opponent to the other line, causing extra damage. vs Megaman: The Wily Wars (1994) Developed and published by Capcom This game is considered to be very rare in Europe and as such PAL copies of the game regularly fetch amounts over £100. This is due to the European version being the only English language edition available today, with the North American versions being a digital distribution through the Sega Channel and therefore never received a cartridge release. Let us commence. First to three votes advances just like last time.

Shinobi 3. As much as I like Fatal Fury 2, the Genesis version is not very good, and the PAL version of Wily Wars is unforgivably slow (due to being PAL, and therefore 50 Hz)

Well that was quick. Shinobi slashes swiftly through the competition to advance. Next match... an icon, an imitator, and... something that doesn't belong. Aero the Acrobat (1993) Developed by Iguana Entertainment. Published by Sunsoft. During the 16-bit era, Aero had a fair share of fame. Sunsoft used him as a mascot during the 16-bit console days. After the 16-bit decline, he disappeared and was forgotten until 2002, when Metro 3D decided to port this game for the Game Boy Advance, with a battery back-up (which the original versions lacked). vs Robocop 3 (1993) Developed by Acclaim Entertainment. Published by Flying Edge. The Super NES edition of RoboCop 3 is also a traditional single-player side-scrolling game. It was developed by Ocean Software and had what many considered to be extremely difficult gameplay. It was largely critically panned upon release. Flying Edge (a subsidiary of Acclaim Entertainment) would later port this version to other consoles, including the Sega Genesis and Sega Master System. vs Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992) Developed by Sonic Team/Sega Technical Institute. Published by Sega A prototype of the game, dating from before Sonic 2 itself, was discovered on a Chinese GeoCities website and has been widely distributed on the Internet. Only four levels can be played during "normal" gameplay; the rest have to be accessed through a level select code. There are three scrapped stages found in the prototype. When other versions were discovered, this version was named the "Simon Wai Prototype", in honor of the person who found the Chinese site. Many zones are not entirely playable but can be explored using the debug code. These levels include Wood Zone, Dust Hill Zone, Genocide City Zone and Hidden Palace Zone

I don't want to vote for Sonic 2, but it's the least of 3 evils, so there we are.

Sonic 2 spin dashes past the opposition! Next match... it's certainly a match! Chuck Rock (1991) Developed by Core Design. Published by Virgin Games/Tec Toy In 1994, the game was among the most popular games for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. The character of Chuck Rock himself was an iconic early character for Core Design before the introduction of Lara Croft in the 1996 game Tomb Raider, and the character of Chuck Rock himself and his family even featured in some UK comic books of the 1990s. vs Vectorman 2 (1996) Developed by Bluesky Software. Published by Sega/Tec Toy Vectorman 2 was produced for the Genesis, and released in 1996. Vectorman 2 strays greatly from its predecessor in terms of location. Instead of the urban setting of Vectorman 1, Vectorman 2 is mostly set in a rather modern day world and not the futuristic one of the original. vs Wrestle War (1991) Developed and published by Sega Wrestle War is the name of a video game which was released in the arcades in 1989, and for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis console in 1991 in Japan, Australia, and Europe only. and was published and developed by Sega.
