My whole life I've heard about working 9-5 and how that's the norm. Well, I came to a shocking realization today:
I don't know a single person that works 9-5... and nobody in my entire office knows a single person either.
Just a random thought.

See, this is an unfunny line I see tossed around a lot. You want to know the truth? They are there an hour before they open and an hour after they close. Blame the Fed for Banker's Hours, not the Banker.

I would seriously give my left nut to have those kinds of hours. I have been working the overnight shift for the past two and a half years. It is so incredibly difficult to have any sort of social life having that kind of schedule.
And I think my body is starting to realize that. For the past six to eight weeks. I have had trouble sleeping during the day, when I come home from work and therefore I have a hard time functioning at work that night.
But the thing is working overnight is the only way that I am guaranteed to get a full forty hours a week.

I'm just thankful to be given the opportunity to work OT these days.

My fiancee works 8:30 to 5:30. As for me, well... I telecommute. It doesn't matter when I get it all done, just as long as it's "in the can" by 7:50 the next day. Because of this, my working day usually ends up looking like this:
Monday: Thursday: Noon to 3; 11 to 3 AM. Friday: Noon to whenever I get bored. Sunday: 11 to 3 AM.

My schedule over most of the year is 6 to 2, though in the dead of the summer I usually go in an hour earlier and leave an hour earlier.
