I'm supposed to have 10MB broadband, yet my old AOL dialup seems faster. When I start the computer up, I can usually get 7MB/s out of it but in the space of 20 minutes it's down to less than a MB/s. Why is it so sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow? *is going to complain by the end of the week if it doesn't improve*

Because this man is the devil. Look at him. He laughs at your misfortune and receives pleasure knowing it's because of him.

It depends on the source of what I'm downloading, but I'm on 10MB and I tend to regularly attain download speeds (for well-seeded torrents) of just over 1MB per second. That's plenty for me, considering I downloaded all of Summerslam in less than 20 minutes.

It isn't just downloads, though. It's everything on the internet. This place can take like 30 seconds to load a page.
Also, I'm virus-free to the best of AVG's knowledge and this is the only computer in the house.

Out-of-control seeding caused by programs like uTorrent can majorly slow things down. External devices such as game systems and satellite receivers also have the tendancy to gum up the works. If you have anything like that running, disconnect them for a moment.
