OK, I'll give you one more comment. Good work! There. Aaaaand we're on page 2. Thanks, turns out my rather sad begging for that one more reply wasn't necessary after all because you happened to post before I finished that message. Oh well, at least we are now safely on page 2 and no one's connection will be killed by reading this thread any more. Unless they are on dial-up, I guess.

At the end of the the previous episode of Let's Play Persona 4, our crew of Seta, Yosuke and Teddie entered the dark TV otherworld version of the liquor store owned by the late Saki Konishi's family in the real world. We also heard creepy disembodied voices including that of Mr. Konishi himself talking crap about Saki, and eventually Yosuke found a photo with himself and Saki. When we last left our heroes, the voice of Saki Konishi was heard saying that she never had the chance to tell Yosuke... something. What is she going to tell Yosuke? Wait for it... --- Entry 08: Sublimely Magnificent Boss Battle Special Edition!! (also, girls in kimonos if we get that far) Swerve! Also, ICE BURN. Saki's voice: "I was nice to him just because he was the store manager's son, that's all..."I don't usually do this, but... Owned.Yosuke: "P-Pain in the ass...?" Saki's voice: "Who cares about Junes, anyway? Because of that store, our business is ruined, my parents hate me, the neighbors talk behind my back..."As you might expect, Yosuke is not taking this revelation very well. Yosuke: "I-It's a lie... This can't be... Senpai's not like that!" Oh, great, now he's apparently gone batshit... waaaitWHAT. Another Yosuke, this one has evil-looking yellow eyes and glows blue for some reason. The other Yosuke has some choice words for our Yosuke... Yosuke: "What are you saying...? That's not true, I--" Other Yosuke: "You put on a good show of being carefree and happy-go-lucky 'cause you're so terrified of being alone."How is he supposed to know that? (as an aside, that closeup sprite looks wonderfully psychotic) Oh. Well, I guess that makes things slightly easier. Other Yosuke: "And that Senpai you were so sweet on? Her death was the perfect excuse!"Wow, Yosuke's day has not been good thus far. With that said, I did wonder why he was suddenly so eager to return to the TV world back there, and what the other Yosuke is saying kind of makes sense when you think about it. Yosuke: "What are you? Who are you?" Other Yosuke: "I'm you... Your Shadow... There's nothing I don't know about you!"Yosuke has had enough and screams aloud that the shadow is not him. "I find this highly amusing." Cutscene time: If you didn't watch that, the basic gist is that Shadow Yosuke dares the real one to repeat what he just said and when he does, the shadow turns into... ...a frog with giant hands dressed up as Hotsuma from the PS2 version of Shinobi? That's... actually pretty disturbing. Oh well, here we go, our first boss battle of the game! Boss battle theme, appropriately called "I'll Face Myself": Shadow Yosuke: "I'll crush everything that bores me... Starting with you!"That's not a bad one-liner. Shadow Yosuke starts off with an attack called "Wind of Oblivion", which is bad news for Seta because his Persona is weak to wind attacks and, thus, it knocks him on his ass. He follows up with "Power Charge" which makes his next physical attack at least two times stronger than usual. If he had just done Wind of Oblivion again, he could just beat the crap out of Seta, but maybe it's for the best that the FIRST boss of the game doesn't do that. We'll get more of that later, don't worry. Thanks, the boss music kinda suggested as much. Teddie introduces us to the new Guard mechanic, which adds another layer of strategy to the battles in Persona 4. Battle Tutorial 8: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-1620-26-32-70.jpgBattle Tutorial 9: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-1620-26-36-56.jpgBattle Tutorial 10: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-1620-26-38-03.jpgBattle Tutorial 11: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-1620-26-40-87.jpgBattle Tutorial 12: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-1620-26-42-70.jpgBasically, the strategy in this fight is to guard whenever Shadow Yosuke uses Power Charge or telegraphs the Wind of Oblivion by assuming guard position himself on the previous turn. Essentially, he can't hurt you if you do this. Seta does lose some HP from the attacks but the damage is less than normal and he doesn't lose turns either. Thus, we can summon Izanagi and just fry the ever loving f*** out of the giant ninja frog until he disintegrates into a cloud of red and black goo. Also known as the most useful skill you can have at this point. Rakunda decreases an enemy's defense quite drastically for 3 turns, and in this game we will be using it a lot. After the battle, Yosuke finally mans up and admits the Shadow was indeed based on his inner thoughts. In the process, Ninja Frog evolves into 70's Elvis Frog and becomes Yosuke's Persona, Jiraiya.Yosuke is taking this pretty well now, and after a bit of brotherly bonding between him, Seta and Teddie we return to the TV world lobby. We also figure out exactly what happened to Mayumi Yamano and Saki Konishi in this world. Although they were killed by a mass of Shadows when the fog cleared, they were safe before that. Thus, Teddie gets an idea of fighting the Shadows and saving whoever else might get thrown into this world. We decide to do exactly that and, of course, try to find the culprit. The Island of Misfit Mascots. Or David Lynch's fever dreams. OF COURSE! Honestly though, I've been wondering... what if someone actually DOES buy the TV? I mean, no one shops for TVs in Inaba but what if someone suddenly decides they need a 52" HDTV? One transition effect later, we return to the Junes electronic department where Chie... Oh crap, we forgot about her, didn't we? Err, yeah. I guess we did. Also, LARIATAAAAH~! Not King Morons, though, that's always good! So does your voice actress, honey. Chie: "The rope got cut off... and I had no idea what to do... I was so worried... I mean scared stiff, dammit! I hate you both!"Yeah, it might have. I guess we'll apologize to her in the next update. Yosuke goes home saying he'll probably sleep well tonight, and so Seta also heads off towards Dojima's place wondering if Dojima is out drinking with Adachi at work again. As Seta passes through Samegawa Flood Plain, he sees Yukiko sitting there (wearing a kimono, no less) and decides to chat with her for a bit. She's been doing a lot of work at the inn lately. She asks if Seta is getting along with Chie, and we truthfully answer that she is quite a handful. Did you happen to meet Johnny and Eddie and Brian and Jimmy and Jack by the railroad track? Yukiko needs to go make some arrangements with the inn's head chef, so she bids Seta farewell for now. Time to head home, I suppose. Definitely out drinking with Adachi. After the usual news bit about the Inaba police still not getting anything done, the Amagi Inn is shown on TV. : "Now that has a nice ring to it... Let's see if we can interview her. Excuse me!" Yukiko: "Hm...? Um... Are you speaking to me?" : "We've heard that you're the new manager. Is it true you're still in high school?" Yukiko: "Oh, well, I'm only filling in temporarily..." : "Someday, though... That aside, wow! You're looking gorgeous in that kimono. You must have a lot of male visitors." Yukiko: "Huh? No, um..."Boring? Actually, that was the most interesting thing I have seen on TV this week, if only just a wee bit disturbing. Progress! --- Next time on Let's Play Persona 4, we check our status by pressing Triangle! Also, Midnight Channel and some other stuff! Look forward to it. And please give your feedback.

My favourite episode so far. One of the biggest reasons being the furious look on Teddie's face during the cutscene. And the plot is also starting to get somewhat intriguing and the other Yosuke was scary as hell.
The look on Teddie's eyes after the boss battle makes me wonder if his manic depressive tendencies will lead to a subplot later down the line.

Entry 09: PERSONAS PERSONAS SOCIAL LINK SOCIAL LINK SOCIAL LINK PERSONAS PERSONAS When we last left our young hero, he was told by the ever helpful in-game tutorial that he can now check his status using the Triangle button. Or, in this case, the Y button, because I'm using an Xbox 360 controller here. PS2 games on a 360 controller, it boggles the mind! (Also, the vibration function actually works!) However, we do not check the status just yet, instead it is time for another look at the Midnight Channel because it's a rainy night again. I swear, Inaba has the worst weather known to man, even Finnish summers don't have this much rain. Gee, I wonder who that is. We just talked to someone who was wearing a kimono this afternoon, and then we saw the same person on TV, so I can't possibly even try and begin to guess who this individual on the Midnight Channel might be. Seems to have long black hair, though. Seta attempts to cop a feel. Well, it's worth a shot, right? Oh, bollocks. Let's just go to sleep. GAH! Igor has invaded Seta's dreams! Igor: "From this night forth, you are our guest in the Velvet Room. Your destiny will require you to hone your power, and for that you will inevitably require our help."...Is this going to hurt? Oh. Well, that isn't so bad. I'm a very responsible person, indeed. Yes, responsible. That's me all over. Igor: "It is a side of you that shows itself when you face the world around you. Perhaps you can think of it as... a facade of determination you wear to face various difficulties in life."Igor: "The Persona ability is the power to control one's own heart... and the heart is strengthened through bonds. As you form bonds by becoming involved with others, your own Social Links will gradually develop."Margaret: "At times, they will help light the way to the truth you are searching for."Ron Killings? Igor: Where will your awakened power of the wild card take you...? I look forward to traveling the road of your destiny together... *chuckle*That was interesting. All right, time for the next day... Saturday, in case you didn't know, is a school day in Japan. Also, I don't think I've mentioned it here, but Persona 4 takes place in the not too distant future, next Sunday 2011 A.D. (the Persona games are always set three years from their Japanese year of release) Speaking of which, as we already saw, the school year in Japan starts in the spring. But remember, just 'cause it's spring doesn't mean you get to swoon over each other like love-struck baboons. GEE I WONDER WHO THAT GIRL SHOWN ON TV WAS Yosuke mentions he is now also able to put his hand inside the TV. After a bit of friendly bonding, Seta and Yosuke shake hands and... I hear voices in my head, they council me, they understand, they talk to me... in Ye Olde English? Also, we've now formed our very first Social Link, that of the Magician Arcana. "Yosuke's determination in battle has enhanced!" In Persona 4, as well as Persona 3 and just about every Shin Megami Tensei game except Digital Devil Saga and the early Persona games, if the protagonist dies it's GAME OVER. Persona 4 introduces the feature where your party members will dive in front of Seta and take the blow in his stead (and it won't necessarily kill them either if they have enough HP left). Very useful, although it only works when the attack is targeted only at Seta and isn't, for instance, a spell that hits everyone. So, we get to school and apologize to Chie for leaving her behind yesterday, but she has more important things to worry about right now because... well, the girl on the Midnight Channel was Yukiko. Shocking, I know. Apparently, Yukiko said she was going to be at school today, but she hasn't shown up and doesn't answer her phone or emails. Before we jump to further conclusions (although Yosuke does suspect that she's been thrown into the TV already), Chie decides to call the Amagi Inn in case Yukiko had to stay and help... just like she's been doing throughout the week. Sure enough, there she is, and will be there tomorrow as well. Well, looks like we were worried over nothing. Chie gets mad at Yosuke, but at least he doesn't get his head kicked in this time. Yep, it does kind of make sense. However, Yukiko is still in this world even though she was shown on the Midnight Channel. We decide to head to Junes after school and see if Teddie has anything he can tell us about this. "And then Konishi-senpai's voice said that Yosuke was a pain in the ass! You should have seen his face, all that buildup towards some kind of a romantic shôjo manga cliche thing, and then, SWERVE! Then this other Yosuke came and I totally kicked his ass and... Okay, okay, I'll stop now." There are customers around because the electronics department is having a sale, so Yosuke and Chie make the most half-assed wall ever to somehow prevent people from seeing Seta stick his hand inside the HDTV. Oh well, let's just beckon Teddie over, let's hope he's wandering around near the entrance. Ow! F***! I hope Teddie doesn't have rabies. So, we ask Teddie if anyone has appeared in the TV world, and all he can give us is the first of many lame bear-related puns. If you thought mine were bad, wait 'til you see what this guy has to offer. Ugh. But yeah, apparently Yukiko hasn't been thrown into the TV as of yet. Chie promises to warn her and walk to school with her on Monday, so I guess we've done all we can here. We promise to check the Midnight Channel tonight and head off. Later on, somewhere in Inaba... ...Dojima once again demonstrates why they deserve to be called Inaba's finest. Somehow, his junior partner Adachi (who we still know as "Young detective" despite hearing his name earlier) appears to be more competent than Dojima himself is. Dojima and Adachi talk about how this case could possibly be related to the love triangle, but apparently both Misuzu Hiiragi and Taro Namatame (who has been seen in Inaba recently, but was at his office when the murder of Mayumi Yamano happened) have solid alibis and aren't linked to the murders in any way. Young detective: "He's practically as much of a victim as the Yamano girl."As for Saki Konishi... Dojima: "The only other connection is that she attended the same school as the daughter of the inn where Yamano was holed up. But that hardly points as a motive. Coincidences like that are common in a town as small as ours.""If it isn't, we're f***ed 'cause this is the only real town on the game disc. All right, let's go get wasted, where was that hostess bar again?" Meanwhile at the Dojima residence, Seta notes that the fridge is empty. Screw that then, let's go watch the Midnight Channel once more and see if Yukiko appears. Yukiko does appear, but something is certainly... well, not right. She's got a princess costume on for God knows what reason and says something about "scoring herself a hot stud" and "wearing her lacy unmentionables, stacked from top to bottom". ... Reality TV at its finest, folks! Here's the video clip: Yukiko runs towards a castle of some sort, with another one of those weird red and black portals at the entrance. "Scoring a hot stud", though? What the hell? --- What happens next? What was that weird video about Yukiko going off to "score a hot stud" all about? Will the police force ever manage to arrest anyone? Can we finally move the main character around in the overworld? Find out the answers to some of these questions next time on Let's Play Persona 4!

Another entertaining entry. Eventhough you missed an obvious Homicide joke there and there wasn't quite enough Teddie for my liking, it was a good read to pass time at work. Sure, some might say that I could pass time by actually working, but let's not be silly.
The whole thing with Yukiko was.. interesting to se the least.

Entry 10: Just Two Ordinary Kids Who Like Weapons Yosuke calls us right after the Midnight Channel clip, and he is also rather confused by what we just saw. Yosuke: "But didn't the stuff she was saying sound weird"?Well, yeah, that certainly didn't sound like something the Yukiko we know would be saying. Yosuke: "And she looked like she was on some low-budget TV show... Was it like this before, too?"Anyhow, we decide to contact Chie and meet up at Junes first thing in the morning. Dojima's not at home, as usual. Nanako says she'll be all right on her own, so we check the weather and leave. Hey, look, it's the sun! As we get to the Junes food court, we find Yosuke holding a pair of swords he apparently found in a closet at home. It doesn't matter what we pick, Seta can only use katanas and other two-handed weapons. This was a slight disappointment to me when I first played the game, because Persona 3's protagonist was able to wield any weapon he could get his hands on. STOP DOING THAT YOU MORON Yosuke, you impossible twit. : "Hands where I can see them, too! I said now!"Yosuke, being the idiot he is, starts mumbling about "not having stolen the weapons" and that "we're just two ordinary kids who like weapons". The policeman isn't impressed. Well, that could have gone better. Still, at least this proves the Inaba police can catch SOMEONE. I didn't do anything, dammit! In any case, Dojima confiscates our weapons. Meanwhile, it appears Yukiko has gone missing. This just keeps getting better and better. We run into Adachi, who mentions that Yukiko has indeed gone missing. He also says that Mayumi Yamano had some harsh words for the manager of Amagi Inn, that of course being Yukiko's mother. This supposedly caused Mrs. Amagi so much stress that she collapsed, and since Yukiko would obviously feel strongly about this, Adachi seems to think it would be a possible motive for murder and thus he appears to be suspecting Yukiko. I take back whatever I said about this guy being competent. Adachi realizes he has said too much, and then Dojima tells him to bring his coffee. Only serious professionals here. On the way out we meet Chie who tells us Yukiko has disappeared, for real this time. We tell her what Adachi said and then decide to go save Yukiko. But how? We have no weapons. Chie, however, says she knows just the place. Inaba Shopping District, Daidara Metalworks... Awesome. Yosuke is not thrilled about Chie coming along on the rescue mission and makes the mistake of saying that he understands how she feels. We decide Chie gets to come along, because after all, she knows kung fu. Yosuke gives us 5,000 yen and tells us to buy something for him as well. Okay then. That's a fair point. Yeah, they totally won't notice a suit of armor underneath the school uniform. As mentioned, Seta can only use two-handed swords and golf clubs and such. I buy Yosuke some armor instead of a weapon, because we'll get him a better weapon very soon. When you defeat enemies in battle, they drop various materials you can bring to Daidara here, and he will craft new weapons, armor and accessories from them. A door appears from nowhere and Seta hears Igor's voice in his head. We use the Velvet Key we got earlier and enter the Velvet Room. Hell yeah. By the way, I didn't remember to post the Velvet Room music when we came here before, so here it is: What is it Igor actually does? What's the purpose of Social Links? What does the square button do? Why does the Revival Bead cost so damn much? Find out next time on Let's Play Persona 4! (sorry for the short update, but I gotta run)

Entry 11: Withered flowers forget what they wept for, day after day-ay-ay-ay Previously on Let's Play Persona 4, Igor summoned our hero Seta into the Velvet Room to talk about things of high importance. So, what is it this guy actually does? That sounds rather painful, I don't even want to think how that works... Ah, okay, why didn't you say so in the first place? Igor: "When you obtain new cards, do not hesitate to bring them here."Igor: "They will be one of your chief sources of strength. You would do well to take this to heart."That's the idea behind Persona fusion and the main function of Social Links in a nutshell. Margaret whips out the Persona Compendium, where you can register the Personas you have fused. Once registered, you can recall them whenever you feel like it, although it costs quite a bit especially if the Persona you want is strong. Remember when Igor told us this year would be the turning point in our destiny? ...Yeah. We'll find out what that means soon enough. The next time we enter the Velvet Room, it will be of our own will. You know what THAT means, right? GAMEPLAY! ACTUAL GAMEPLAY! This is the music that plays when Seta walks around town on sunny days. As soon as it's in your head, it will not come out.
WE CAN RUN AROUND TOWN NOW! (Or use the Square button for fast traveling, but where's the fun in that?) This is the bookstore, where Seta can buy books that raise his stats. The blue butterfly you see on the right is a save point. OM NOM NOM. Unfortunately, we can't enter right now. No, go away. Eh, she's apparently Nanako's friend, so I guess I won't be a douche this time. Let's see what the nearby store is selling... 1,950 yen for a Revival Bead? (basically this game's equivalent of a Phoenix Down or a Raise Dead spell, it revives a downed party member with 50% health) Holy crap! In Persona 3, these cost like 50% less! Because I'm a caffeine addict, I spent the rest of my money on soft drinks. Okay, let's check the status now. Not looking very awesome at the moment, but I will try to max out all of the five personal stats during this playthrough. We can also check out Yosuke's Persona. Those, by the way, are not Mickey Mouse ears, they're supposed to be frog eyes. Jiraiya can use Garu (lvl 1 wind spell), Bash (physical attack) and Dia (lvl 1 healing spell). He learns some good support spells later on, making him a good all-rounder. Right, let's go to Junes! Well, no s***. I'd ask where exactly we are keeping our weapons, but I guess I'll just play along. The sale at the electronics department has ended and there are no customers around, so we enter the TV world. Yeah, it's Teddie all right, but what is he doing? Right, good luck with that OH GOD STOP WITH THE BEAR PUNS. Um, yes it was. Chie asks if Teddie has noticed Yukiko around, and the bear immediately takes a liking to her. He says that someone has indeed come into the TV world, and so he takes us to where that person came in. Creepy. I think this just might be the castle we saw on the Midnight Channel last night, so Yukiko is probably inside. So um, is it really so that no one is filming this thing? Oh, all righty then. That cleared things up so much. Chie does, however, think something seemed wrong when Yukiko appeared on the Midnight Channel. Also, she sounded like Jessie of Team Rocket on that program. I don't remember if I've posted a video where Yukiko speaks normally, but she usually sounds very subdued and not at all like what we saw and heard. Teddie believes the shows that we see on the Midnight Channel are essentially created by the person who appears on there. Independent TV productions FTW! Chie feels Yukiko's presence and goes inside the castle alone before anyone can stop her. Teddie gives us another Revival Bead and an assortment of Peach Seed (gives 10 HP to a party member, pretty much useless) and Soul Drops (10 SP, slightly more useful but still pretty useless), and so we head inside the castle after Chie. Hell yeah, we finally get to play the damn game! Next time on Let's Play Persona 4: Dungeon crawling and another boss fight. Look forward to it.

Entry 12: I don't think anybody is even reading thisPreviously on LPP4, we entered the first dungeon of the game. Good, then we don't have to hurry or anything. Even better. Bring 'em on, I want to whack something with my sword. Remember, Chie is not a Persona-user, so the Shadows are leaving her alone for now. Just like in Persona 3, then. This is going to be awesome. First of all, though, we shall switch battle tactics so we can control Yosuke's actions directly. Makes fighting much, much more pleasant when we don't have to worry about AI party members screwing everything up. The AI is actually pretty competent, but I prefer to give direct commands so I know at all times what my guys are doing. Hey look, a chest being guarded by a Ghost Pokémon! Let's just wait until he turns around and we'll... ...miss our attack and let the monster come at us. Oh well. Basically, I fail at gaining the advantage because I miss the Shadow by approximately three feet as I swing the sword. God damn two handed swords, why did they have to give the main character the one weapon that you couldn't hit anything with in Persona 3 either? Still, at least the enemy didn't get the advantage either, so I guess we're good. What on earth is that thing, anyway? (It is the Pisces type of enemy) Let's murder it. This particular creature is weak against Wind, so it's time to see what Yosuke's Persona is made of. It's super effective! Making its return from Persona 3 is the All-Out Attack, which you can use whenever all the enemies in the battle are knocked down by exploiting their weaknesses or scoring critical hits on them. Basically, everyone in the party rushes the enemy at once and destroys it (or at least damages it heavily unless it's immune to physical attacks). Shuffle Time! This is another feature that makes a return from Persona 3, here you are supposed to play a little minigame in order to win Persona cards you can use to either summon those Personas or fuse them in the Velvet Room. Shuffle Tutorial 1: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-2017-42-18-90.jpgShuffle Tutorial 2: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-2017-42-20-40.jpgShuffle Tutorial 3: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-2017-42-22-13.jpgShuffle Tutorial 4: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-2017-42-23-47.jpgShuffle Tutorial 5: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-2017-42-25-32.jpgShuffle Tutorial 6: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-2017-42-26-42.jpgShuffle Tutorial 7: i89.photobucket.com/albums/k227/thefluorescentblaze/persona/pcsx202010-01-2017-42-27-76.jpgThere are other types of cards that may appear as well, but more on those later. Right, let's try this. Score! We got Pixie!Wow, that's the worst treasure ever. I finally get the timing of the surprise attack down, and the next monster (which I didn't seem to get a picture of) is as good as dead. We get Ukobach from the card shuffle. One of these guys again? Die! Apsaras getto daze~! No matter how many there are, these monsters are no match for us. The card shuffle gives us Slime for our "troubles". That particular Slime appears to be the gritty and dark cousin of this little guy here: A bunch of dead monsters later, we reach a door. Apparently, Chie is beyond it. Damn right you don't. I had enough of useless Marin F'n Karin casters in the previous game. (for some reason, Teddie decided to give us a tutorial on battle tactics here even though I already changed Yosuke's around as soon as we arrived) We find Chie staring into nothingness. Also, Yukiko's voice can be heard speaking. "Snow Child", actually. Or "Snow Girl", since -ko is only used as a suffix in girls' names in Japan. Which kinda makes it embarrassing for some Finns (including myself) to introduce ourselves to Japanese people, because here -ko is a common suffix in guys' names. But I digress. Is it just me or have all of these inner thoughts we've been hearing sounded somewhat depressing? It does, honey, it does. Yukiko's voice: "Chie was the only one who gave my life meaning... She's bright and strong, and she can do anything... She has everything that I don't... Compared to Chie, I'm... I'm..."Yukiko's voice: "And I... I don't deserve any of it... Chie is so kind..."Whuh? Thought Shadow Yosuke was scary? Check this out. Other Chie: "She says she's worthless! *chuckle* That's how it should be, right? Yukiko's sooo good-looking... sooo fair-skinned... sooo feminine... She's the one all the guys drool over."Um, Chie, maybe you should spend less time kicking the guys in the balls if you want them to like you. Just a hint. Other Chie: "Yukiko knows the score. She can't do anything if I'm not around. I'm better than her... Much, much better!" Chie: "No! I have never thought that!"Let's just hope she doesn't say... ...well, shit. Other Chie: "*chuckle* That's right, I'm the one who can't do anything alone... I can't win as a girl, let alone as a person... I'm pathetic. But Yukiko... She depends on me... *chuckle* That's why she's my friend... I'll never loosen my grip on her... She's too important to me.Did she take promo lessons from Randy Orton? Chie: "No... That is not how I think of her..."Other Chie: "You won't mind, right? I'm still you!"ohgoddontsayitdontsayitdontsay... Crap! Charming. Is that a dunce cap or a Klan hood? Shadow Chie: "What do you guys think you're doing? Trying to defend the "real" me? Then you're gonna pay the price!"Okay, this has gone on long enough. Let's clobber her. First of all, Rakunda. That makes our attacks do twice the usual damage, which is something we really want in a boss fight because these things usually have a lot of HP. Yosuke uses Garu and brings Shadow Chie down. Time for an All-Out Attack, which does over 200 damage. Green Wall essentially makes her immune to Wind attacks for 3 turns. She also uses Mazio (a level 1 thunder spell that hits the entire party/all enemies), but she telegraphed it by staring at Yosuke on the previous turn. Thus, Yosuke guards and doesn't take thunder damage, Seta manages to dodge the attack altogether. Green Wall eventually wears off, as does Rakunda so we cast that again and let Yosuke use Garu once more. An All-Out Attack, Cleave and another Garu later, Shadow Chie bites the dust. Well, that was easy. Long story short, Chie manages to admit the Shadow was a part of her and it becomes a... OH GOD AHAHAHAHAHAHA Err, sorry. It becomes Chie's Persona, Tomoe. Yes, that is the Game of Death jumpsuit she's wearing. This update has gone on long enough, so next time on LPP4 we'll hear what Chie has to say about all that just happened and see what will happen next! Look forward to it!

Highly recommended, as far as I'm concerned it is the single best game on the PS2. Also, to me, a good Let's Play is one that is entertaining to those who are familiar with the game while simultaneously managing to draw in some of those who haven't played it (and possibly inspiring them to try it out). If this LP manages to inspire folks to pick up Persona 4, I feel I'm doing something right. The next update is coming in a couple of hours or so.

Entry 13: Words Last time on LPP4, we met Chie's Shadow form that turned violent and had to be put down. It then transformed into Chie's Persona which looks completely ridiculous. I mean, seriously? Dunce cap helmet, Game of Death jumpsuit, some samurai armor and wrestling boots? I guess it suits Chie's character, but holy hell, does that thing look stupid. With that out of the way, let's hear what Chie has to say about what happened in the previous update. Chie: "But I wasn't lying about being friends with Yukiko...!"Well, that's pretty obvious. As soon as Chie says this, she falls down on her knees because it appears that the process of receiving your Persona is pretty tiring, both mentally and physically. We decide to take a break at this point to let Chie rest a bit. Chie: "I'm not as strong as she thinks! It's because she was with me... Because we were always together, I was able to act that way. If we weren't, I'd..."...be absolutely unbearable, as opposed to just mildly irritating at points? Sunny lately? Dude, I came here a week or so ago and didn't see the sun a single time until this morning... but yeah, I guess that qualifies as being sunny "lately". Well, the last time we saw her, she was running off to score a hot stud. She'll probably be fine for now, unless her idea of a hot stud is one of those Hablerie things. "Then again, a retarded walrus could beat the ones we've seen so far." The police? Err... I guess not. Chie apologizes for rushing in like an idiot earlier, and we all decide to go together next time. Good call. As we return to the main lobby of the TV world, Chie is not feeling so good because of the atmosphere of this place. On the other hand, Seta and Yosuke don't feel a thing because of the bitchin' glasses they're wearing. Chie... Teddie gives Chie a pair of glasses as well, which prompts Yosuke to ask why he didn't give those to her before. Plus, there's the fact she kinda ran off before Teddie had the chance to give anyone anything. Chie asks if she can keep the glasses. This guy rules. "Did I hear someone say Puppies?" IT'S DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE! TAKE THIS. ("YOU JUMPED INTO A SWORD, YOU RETARD!") (language warning just in case) Right! Whuh? Oh, come on, I'll miss Haruhi Suzumiya! ...Err, oh yeah, saving Yukiko. I guess that might be important here. "Okay, I suppose that works since I'm the main protagonist and all." With that, we get another Social Link! Woo Woo Woo, you know it! "You may gain an EXP bonus when fusing Personas of the Fool Arcana."Basically, if the forecast shows several days of rain, it's time to go save Yukiko or bad things will happen. Right, let's head home for now. Well, this afternoon me and my friends went inside the big TV at Junes and were transported into this foggy dimension that looks like something David Lynch or Alejandro Jodorowsky would come up with, entered this creepy castle, fought Rolling Stones logo gum balls and flying metal fish, and finally killed a giant dominatrix monster with more hair than Bayonetta. But besides that, nothing out of the ordinary. "To be honest, I only feel bad about the fact I forgot to buy some beer for tonight. But you get the point, right?" "Here, we actually get something done." Okay, I guess I won't go and save this girl from getting eaten (or worse, if you know what I mean) by monsters, then. Right, pops. Tell me, can YOU summon the Shinto god of creation and various other mythological creatures at will? Good, no fog to be expected anytime soon. This essentially means that instead of being wrong half the time like in the real world, the weather forecast in Persona 4 is ALWAYS right and there aren't any nasty surprises for us... although that would have been an interesting, albeit potentially frustrating, feature in the game. Next time on LPP4: School and stuff, maybe saving Yukiko from monsters. Look forward to it.

I've got to get back playing this game. After all, I've only gotten to the first part of the second dungeon and need to keep ahead of you.
For those who are thinking of getting the game: you can possibly find this new (and in shrink-wrap, no less) if you do a bit of hunting. I originally got the game in Tennessee after going to:
2 Gamestops 1 Wal-Mart 1 Hastings (where I finally found it, shrink-wrapped, for $30)
It was worth every penny I paid for it. Also, I found the guide for it in a Game Xchange in Hyattsville, MD a few months later.

Good work! (apart from the digs at Chie ) How are you getting all of these images, by the way? I think you mentioned it somewhere, but I can't remember.

Good work! (apart from the digs at Chie ) Thanks. As for Chie, I don't hate her or anything (especially since she is really useful in battle and I'll probably be keeping her in the party most of the time), but her voice actress tends to make her seem more annoying than she actually is. I run the game on the PCSX2 emulator (using the actual game disc, I might add) and take the screen captures with Fraps.

Right, I was supposed to post the next update several hours ago, I have pictures for at least a couple of entries ready (250 new screenshots, in fact, although I won't be using all of them), but before I managed to post anything I ran into some major technical difficulties with PCSX2 and had to update and reinstall the whole thing several times and configure various things in order to get it sorted out.
The process was worth it, though, because I've now apparently managed to fully eliminate the annoying graphical glitches that would show up all the time (not in the screenshots, though, just on my screen as I played the game) in just about every part of Inaba you could think of.

The game seems very interesting. It's unfortunate that I'd probably have to import this as I haven't seen it available in Australia.

I did some catching up (I'm at work, there's not a whole lot to do here. I could always work, but the idea does not appeal to me.) and this is getting really interesting now and obviously you're doing something right, since I'm not a Persona player myself. Hell, I don't even own a DEVIL'S DEVICE.. er, I mean PS2.
I really don't have anything too intelligent to say, outside of "good work" but I thought I'd give you a comment, anyway, since I feel you deserve it. So, good work.
