I like the scene in the trailer where you actually see him Pre-Freddy, with the parents. That was never in the original.

Nice to see they forgot about the hands being burnt again...
Looks creepy enough, but I don't see why there had to be so many shot for shot rehashes. I'm fine with the story being similar, but too much of it looks identical. And I know they were looking for realism with the makeup, but... I don't know, I'm not feeling it.

Wow. You guys are some fickle horror fans, I tell ya.
The trailer looks bloomin' AWESOME, and I'll be there on opening night.

Michael Bay can go one of two ways with this movie. He can take the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake route, and have it be a spectacular remake that is a genuinely good film in it's own right. Or, he can take the "Friday the 13th" remake route, and have it be a bombastic failure that makes me question why I spent $10.50 to see it.
Or he can go the "Amityville Horror" remake route and I could be completely impartial.

Looks really good. I don't mind any similarities, the way I'm seeing it, they are paying homage to the great job that was done in the first series. I hope Freddy cracks wise at least once as that is a favorite thing of mine, but not too much. He is an evil supernatural killer after all. (I hope they give Robert Englund a cameo, that would be sweet!)

Dear Hollywood. STOP BASTARDISING MY FAVOURITE FILMS BY MAKING CRAPPY REMAKES OF THEM, best wishes, lys. You know, nobody is forcing you to watch them. Also, this is just the trailer. It's a quick hype video to get people interested in the movie. If you don't like the trailer, that's one thing. But having never seen the movie and still complaining about it, it makes people like yourself the embodiment of the internet. Everyone seems to complain about something, even without just knowledge of it, just for the hell of it, it seems.

Keep the basics, a few famous shots, and try and add a few of your own twists.
Anyway, I'll probably see this. It's weird to hear a different voice for Freddy, but I'll manage.

Yeah... no one will win that bet because how good it is is completely subjective.

The problem with that is there's no true way to determine whether or not a movie is good. There could be people who go into the movie without high expectations and walk out satisfied. Then there will be nerds who go in expecting Citizen Kane, and having their moms rush them home so they can complain about it on the internet. I'm sure it'll be a good movie. Nothing Oscar worthy, but not as bad as Friday The 13th (this year's version).

Nothing Oscar worthy, but not as bad as Friday The 13th (this year's version). but it might be as bad as the new 13th films, or new halloween films, or the chainsaw massacre remakes, I just don't want to have my favourite, favourite horror character of all time ever, put through the wringer of blandness that these remakes always, always, always produce. I'm gonna go see it. For definite. No doubt i'll be really looking forward to it by the time it rolls around. I'll go in all expectant that surely this time round, with the source material they have to draw from, there is no way they can screw this up.Then a couple hours later i'll emerge from the cinema having already forgotten all the murdered teens names, not care one bit about how they got sliced and diced, angry that style over substance was once again the order of the day. IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME, it makes my head hurt. LEAVE FREDDY ALONE!

I love him, and I love the movies, but let's not pretend like there has never been bad Freddy movies.

The dream child was a cinematic masterpiece and deserved every oscar nomination it recieved.
