The voice of the new Freddy is horrible. Look, I dont want Freddy Krueger to sound like Sonny Landham.

I'm now excited for it.
Part of me says "That's what a trailer is supposed to do!", and the other part says "Shut up, this looks awesome!"
Either way, I'm more excited about this than the "Halloween" remake/sequel and the "Friday the 13th" remake combined. I'll definately see it.
And if it's awful? I guess I'll crack open a bottle... and my "Nightmare on Elm Street" boxset.

If the trailer is supposed to get me excited to see the movie, it's done the opposite.

In the original series, we never got to see the burning from Freddy's viewpoint until Final Nightmare I believe. Maybe even Freddy v Jason, I can't remember. I know, that's why I said it was never in the original I was just clarifying.

Well to everyone that complaining that the re-make is to close to the original; They've already given clue it not going to be because like other said he spouse to be innocent or appears to be instead of getting off on a technicality. I think the person who did this preview knows that the original was kick as for it age; An those piece our the exact one everyone want to know about first. An if the preview is any sign on how well they did there I can't wait to see what they added to the movie to spook us out !!!!

Horror movie remakes tend to get two different reactions from me:
1) If it's too different from the original, why didn't you just make a different movie, leave the classic alone, and have the balls to try and make your own classic?
2) If it's too similar, why didn't you just leave the classic alone and have the balls to try and make your own classic?
I think there's a trend there.

It's not like Freddy hasn't already been put through the ringer a few times. I love him, and I love the movies, but let's not pretend like there has never been bad Freddy movies. shhhhhhhhhhhhhh! you're pointing out a gaping hole in my arguement. I mean... what? The dream child was a cinematic masterpiece and deserved every oscar nomination it recieved. I like that movie. That is all.

Freddy in part 1&2 (even though 2 was turr-a-bull) was damned scary. Then, he turned into stand-up comic Freddy and went into the shitter. Even though there's probably zero percent chance this film is actually good, just to turn the character back scary again would be a win in my book.

meh.. I want Robert Englund. With Halloween and Friday the 13th, I didnt give a damn who played the guys because they wore masks and didnt talk. In my opinion, dont try to make a remake where the main character would be affected by a cast change.

I think Jackie Earl Haley might end up playing Freddy even creepier than Englund going on the brief snippet. On the other hand, with this stuff anbout Freddy being genuinely wrongly accused in this version He'll probably be a pedo in this one I bet ..........He wasn't in the originals was he, I seem to recall him just being a child murderer

So, it's Rorschach, as Walter Kovacs, getting attacked by parents and burned alive, only to come back as a demon who kills in dreams? Damn you, Dr. Manhattan! Why did you transport him to this hellish place?!?!?!

Man, what is it with all the hate for the new Friday the 13th? I myself thought it was a fine effort. Not my favorite film in the series, but definitely serviceable. It had people drinking, smoking, f***ing, and getting killed by Jason. A Friday the 13th film isn't rocket science, and the filmmakers did a fine job, as far as I'm concerned.
As for the trailer, like I said in the horror thread, I'm really not feeling it. From the chase scene to the cheesy suspense music, to Krueger opening his shirt like Superman...what in the hell was that? I thought they were going for a darker tone with this film?
I'd continue, but I'd only be accused of being a bitchy fanboy, so I'll stop it here. I won't make any judgment calls until I actually see the film, but based on the trailer, I'm feeling pretty underwhelmed.

Could be, couldn't say for definite one way or the other as I have a s*** memory and haven't seen it since I was 7ish Not a molester/pedophile, just a murderer.....as strange as that statement may sound but you get my point. Original script had him as a molester as well but it was removed because they didn't want to exploit real life cases that were going on around California at the time.

Original script had him as a molester as well but it was removed because they didn't want to exploit real life cases that were going on around California at the time. There was a newspaper headline in Freddy v Jason that referred to him as a child molester. That might have just been tabloid spin though.
