What's your stance on this. Is it possible? Famous example being Dracula's son Alucard in the Castlevania mythos. We're just gonna ignore that Twilight business. I don't see how it's physically possible...but I'm sure plenty of other vamp lore has involved vampire offspring.
So, WC horror experts...where do vampire babies come from?

How can something dead produce life? That's pretty much my thoughts on it.

How can something dead produce life? How can something dead live? We're dealing with works of fiction here people. Trying to apply real world logic like that doesn't work.

Maybe they were babies when they became vampires.

Would a vampire baby be human or would it be born dead? And if it was a vampire, would it ever become anything more than just a fetus? Since vampires don't age....
...or would it be some kind of super human, like Connor from Angel?

Would a vampire baby be human or would it be born dead? Just like Van Helsing.

Isn't the point of sucking blood from someone to keep the body functioning?

I would assume in case of half humans/half vampires such as Alucard and Blade they take after their human side and are able to grow older. Now I'm not sure about two vampires mixing. To tell the truth I never read any mythos where two vampires produce a baby.

A Damphyr, IE a half breed spawn of a Vampire and Human is quite common in mythos.

It would depend ... Are we talking the old vampire mythos where they were undead beings, or the new fangled deal with movies and fiction depicting them as living, like a different evolution of humanity?
Or if they are undead, perhaps they could impregnate a human being with the help of science? I don't think it would work the other way, as I don't think an undead womb could carry a fetus to term ...
This situation was tackled somewhat in the Anita Blake series, but I can't remember what the deal was. I think a human could be impregnated by a vampire with the help of a wonder drug or something ...

When someone says "what came first, the chicken or the egg?" I usually respond ,assuming you mean what came first the chicken or the chicken egg, that the chicken must have come first because chicken as we now know it must have first been born of some slightly different bird before it evolved into what it is now and started having progeny in its own likeness. That of course relies on a chicken egg only qualifying as an egg laid by a chicken and not just any egg that may CONTAIN a chicken.
I say this because it sounds right enough that it wont be questioned too much and usually ends the conversation. This doesn't make it any more correct or incorrect, its just sounds like it could be right.
