WOO! ;D
You know what? I'm REALLY looking forward to this PPV. F all that "BUyrATe!111!" crap, I wish I could buy this PPV. I really love the build-up to everything.
This is my first time doing predictions, so let's get to it.
1. Simon Dean vs Bobby Lashley
I've been very impressed with Lashley lately. Loved Simon's reaction when Bobby first went through that curtain, and I think psychiologically, Dean was dominated because his cockyness before Lashley's introduction easily showed he thought he'd be facing some jobber. I think this feud is very good, with Lashley trying to prove himself even further by making Dean his little b****. But Dean obviously will be expecting more, so he may have a couple of tricks up his sleave. However,he has that injured wrist, which will easily be manhandled and the major reason Dean will fall to this new athlete. Expect this to be a good 8 minute or so match to pump the crowd up.
Winner: Bobby Lashley, ending this mini-feud to prove himself. Who knows, dean may end up getting some more exposure when his wrist heals.
2. U.S: Championship Fatal 4-Way: Chris Benoit [c] vs Christian vs Booker T vs Orlando Jordan
This is another match I think has been built up very well. All of these guys have faced each other at least once, and each of them all have their own history against each other. Christian has alot of history against Booker T, from times on both Raw and Smackdown. Booker T also has history not only with Christian, but with OJ too, from when Booker was feuding with JBL for the WWE title. Another issue with Booker is Sharmell. She's been helping him win the past few weeks, to his dislike. Booker wants to prove himself that he can do it by himself. Chris Benoit has faced OJ, basically owning him over the past month. Certainly OJ is out to prove himself, or otherwise fail again. Benoit seems to be the only one without anything to prove, besides his dominance as champion. I can almost gurantee this will be above average.
Winner: Like the guy before me, I'm split. On one hand, I think Benoit will win since his run has been very good and it's fresh. I also think he brings ALOT of prestige back to the title, not that my other pick wouldn't do the same. That other pick is Booker T. As I mentioned earlier, Sharmell has been helping him win lately, even though he wants to do it himself. I predict there will be a moment in the match where she will help him again, this time winning the title. From there I can envision Booker telling Sharmell to lay off him or something, in Booker T owning lingo.
I'll lean forward to Benoit though.
3.LOD and Christy Hemme vs MNM and melina
I like this team between Animal and Heidenreich. Although I think they need a new feud. Hemme has been getting better and better in my opinion. Don't really care too much about this one. Don't expect it to be good, but I don't think it'll be terrible either.
Winners: MNM and Melina, although it could go either way.
4.Ken Kennedy vs Hardcore Holly
I have no doubt Kennedy will come out on top. Both are solid wrestlers,so this should be entertaining witht he added antics of Kennedy, both pre and post-match.
Winner: KENNEDY!
5. Cruserweight Championship: Juventud Guerrera vs Nunzio[ch]
If you are an occasional viewer of Velocity, this match has been very well built aswell. The Mexicools have continued to plague Nunzio and Vito, and with just winning the cruserweight battle royal, Juvi has alot of momentum. Although the fact that they've been feuding makes me wonder if the Mexicools are tweeners. On Velocity this week [watch it damn you! ] Juvi eliminated Super Crazy after Super Crazy tried [ or it could have been a mistake] to eliminate Juvi. I doubt this was an intentional thing, and I don't think it'll affect the match too much. I expect this match to be quite good yet quite short.
Winner: Juvi, after help from the Mexicools.
6. Casket Handicap Match: The Undertaker vs The Ortons
While I understand that alot of people are a little tired of this feud [which I am to a fair degree], I think all of the Taker/Randy matches have been excellent. As long as those 2 are the main ones fighting in this match,I expect this to be very good, especially with the stipulation. Considering it's a casket match, expect this feud to be over with this one.
Winner/s: To be honest, I really have no clue who will win this. Although I'll be satisfied either way, considering I like both.Regardless of who wins,I expect them to be gone for a little while.Probally a couple of months or so.
7. JBL vs Rey Mysterio
Another match I look forward to. I think rey should have been given at least one promo to show he's willing to fight, but JBL did a good job at[after getting beat by Rey on SD] making it seem like he was losing his confidence. The whole getting Jillian to help boost his confidence thing worked well, as he is obviously shwoing more cockyness the past weeks. he thinks Rey is nothing more as a stepping stone to getting back on track. But obviously Mysterio has done really well with bigger opponents.JBL can really go in the ring when he wants to,and Mysterio can bust out psychologyy aswell.I think this should be really good.
Winner: JBL, with Rey putting up a hell of a fight
8. World Heavyweight Championship: Batista [ch] vs Eddie Guerrero
THE match I wanna see. The build-up has been incredible, and I know Batista and Eddie will put on something special.Maybe not 5-star,but something very worth it. Eddie claims to be a changed man, something Batista obviously does'nt buy. Batista knows all about figuring people out, since he did notice the plan of HHH to send him to Smackdown. Although,I think the tide has turned. This past week, Eddie helped Batista win, something Batista knew was kiss-ass, but then he helped Eddie when he was getting attacked, something that I think Eddie appreciates, yet might feel troubled going through with the plan to possibly screw over Batista at No Mercy. Since Eddie will be playing the friend role,I expect this match to be VERY clean, possibly to the end. Possibly.
Winner: Oh man, I gotta go with Eddie. Batista's run was excellent, but I expect Eddie to do something at No Mercy to take the belt. Either way,I expect the match to be great. Eddie as the World champ would make for some great freshness to the scene aswell, although don't get me wrong,I completely love Batista as champ.
So I guess we'll just.............. see.
