I'm not too caught up in the PG thing, I think if we had some decent writing, maybe a swerve once and awhile and maybe let the heels win once and awhile the product would be fine. Didn't Orton retain his title this past Sunday? And Punk won too. Jerishow, Kane, Miz is on a roll on Raw currently.

There's a bit of a difference between clean wins and what the WWE has been doing for the most part with heels.
They've gotten a lot better recently, no doubt... especially with the Miz and JeriShow. They've done a terrible job booking Orton as a respectable heel champion.

If you're referring to their SummerSlam match, that's somewhat true. Although after 435,609,537 restarts and an interference from Ted's brother, Brett, I wouldn't really consider that "clean".

Exactly! You can get away with a lot of stuff on a PG program. A lot of TV sitcoms that deal with sex and have some curse words in them are rated PG.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how 2 countouts and a "fan" interfering to save you is considered a clean victory... but okay.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If I hadn't heard about WWE going PG on the Internet, I don't think I'd have noticed the difference. Maybe, just maybe, I might have thought "I haven't seen any blood in a while" but that's it. People talk (and care) about this WAY too much. I think a lot of it is bitching for the sake of bitching (This IS the internet, after all) I'm not telling people what to think or not think, but this is a tired, tired subject. You really can't tell a difference? Did you watch WWE from 1997-2002? It's radically different in it's suggestive nature. No blood, very little if any swearing, bluring of middle fingers, Divas much toned down... I could go on for days about the differences. Yes, yes, but WWE didn't go PG in 2002, they did it last year. (Maybe the year before, I don't really know, nor does it really matter) There are differences, I'm not disputing that, my point is that I've never watched wrestling for the blood, swearing, bird flipping, etc - not that I thought any of that took away from it - but because of that, when those elements are removed I don't notice unless my attention is drawn directly to it like WWE announcing it, as they did. Since the change to PG, things in WWE programming are largely the same. What you're doing, I think, is comparing and contrasting periods with each other. I put it to you that these differences would still be there, but most people wouldn't notice the change as it happened.

TV-PG: Parental Guidance Suggested This program contains material that parents may find unsuitable for younger children. Many parents may want to watch it with their younger children. The theme itself may call for parental guidance and/or the program may contain one or more of the following: some suggestive dialogue (D), infrequent coarse language (L), some sexual situations (S), or moderate violence (V). I would also like to point out that 1997/most of 1998 WWF was rated TV-PG. This should be a reqired post to read for everyone on this forum becuase most on here are confusing G and PG.
