The tag titles were verging on irrelevance just a few short months ago, but that situation has changed. Now the tag belts are forming major storylines, promo time and PPV matches. Just think, a few months ago the tag title match got shunted off the card of a PPV.
And yet, tag team wrestling as we know and love it is all but dead in WWE. The only real tag team is Cryme Tyme (and they flat out suck), yet the titles are now a pretty big deal thanks to Jericho and Big Show.
So what do you think? Will there ever be a tag team division in WWE again, or will the tag titles fall into obscurity once Jerishow are no more?

reluctantly I must admint Yes they have. I admit it reluctantly becuase I was really into Los Colons as champions. Trust me seeing a face win the belts live makes you way more interested in their title run cause you feel like you were part of it

I'm not sure, but Big Show seems motivated again, so that's a plus.
Though I'm still bitter that Morrison/Miz were split up. They should've been given a run with the unified titles.

There are, at current, five tag teams in the WWE? The tag titles are STILL in obscurity. Having them defended by mash up tag teams is a sign of what management thinks of tag teams. Every other promotion INCLUDING the WWE developmental league have a multitude of tag teams.
"But JeriShow is bringing sexy back to the tag titles, Double A!"
Are they? By beating the one actual face tag team and going into a program with two singles wrestlers?
I don't think so.
And they JUST had a DVD on the greatest tag teams in wrestling too. That's like tempting a hungry dog with descriptions of dog food and giving him an empty can.

I'd agree that personality wise yeah they were boring but they had good matches

I actually like Cryme Time...and I thought the Colons were awesome. Anyways yeah it's nice to see the tag belts treated like they mean something.

Not yet, but they've begun the slow process of trying. At least on Edge/Jericho and on Jericho/Show they seem legitimate and relevant again. Teams are actually trying to get shots at the belts, and Summerslam had a 4 week build to the tag title match. It's a start, if anything.

The tag scenario involving Jericho and Big Show reminds me of the thrown together team of Yokozuna and Owen Hart who carried the ho-hum tag division in 1995. You had two solid main event quality heels who pretty much were the tag team division. Its only part 1. This this concept of putting two strong heels together is not enough to save a division.

It's getting there, though I do have to agree splitting up the Colons was a stupid idea.

The tag belts are supposed to represent the pinnacle of the division and the division won't be saved until it is properly established again. That means having a good number to legitimate tag teams and sustained competitive interaction around the titles. There's still quite a way to go until we get there, but the tag titles have had more worth and relevance during JeriShow's reign than they've had in far too long. Now let's get them some real opponents.

I think so. It's certainly better than Primo/Carlito doing nothing with them for months at a time.

They've definitely grown in prestige, even after they unified them (in a non televised bout) Carlito & Primo weren't doing much with them.
I'm hoping whenever Jericho & Show lose them they can keep on building the titles up.

So far so good. Wins over The Legacy and Cryme Tyme were solid, and when 2 top level guys like this care so much about being Tag Champions it does give them value, I just with they'd merge the belts into one rather than both carrying 2 around all the time, also as much as I like MVP and Henry, unless they are getting a team name and similiar attire I'm slightly gutted, except for the odd exception I like "Proper" tag teams, although admittedly we are running short on those. Who are they left to feud with? D-X and Hart Dynasty?

Couldn't have asked for a better scenario where the Harts come in for one night as faces.

Triple-B: The reason they carry the two belts is because, at the moment, they're still recognizing the reigns as two different reigns.
So that could possibly lead to the belts being split again if they get enough teams and such.
...yes I know, big If there.

Think about this, beginning of last year there were 13 tag-teams spread across the 3 brands. Now there are less than a half-dozen

True but maybe they are saving them for when Jerishow actually drop the belts.... ....who am I kidding, it'll be that damn D-X Triple-B: The reason they carry the two belts is because, at the moment, they're still recognizing the reigns as two different reigns. So that could possibly lead to the belts being split again if they get enough teams and such. ...yes I know, big If there. I see the theory but I don't like it, probably the anti-brand split in me, but I've never been a fan of duplicate tag belts. They didn't have them in the late 80s when they had all those teams for the Survivor Series Tag matches and they didn't have them in the Attitude Era, so to merely have 2 sets because of the brand split doesn't work for me. I know they want to enforce the split, but for teams and women I'd make the exception, with the champions can appear on all 3 rule, heck thats only 3 peeps.
