I don't really understand the Bob Holly hate. He's pretty good in the ring ,and don't get the whole "he works stiff" thing as a reason either.Aren't Samoa Joe and Low Ki pretty stiff workers too?Joe and Low Ki, from what I hear, haven't voluntarily tried to injure people, unlike Bob Holly. There's a difference between working stiff and shooting, and Bob Holly blurs that difference to a fault. I generally dislike the guy because he sucks in all parts of the wrestling business, compared to some others who don't and aren't pushed because they aren't Bob Holly (see : cruiserweights). At least, the cruisers only suck on the mic.

I don't give a damn what the Internet thinks. I'M A FAN OF CENA!!! I don't come on to these boards to kiss ass or be liked. I come here to try to discuss pro wrestling in an INTELLIGENT way (which is almost IMPOSSIBLE to do with certain people on this board). If your opinion of someone can be swayed so easily, then you've got no nuts anyway. Right now, my favorite two wrestlers in the WWE are Kurt Angle and John Cena (how appropriate is it for the two of them to currently be in the Main Event scene). If anyone else doesn't like them, I DON'T CARE, IT'S MY DECISION DAMNIT!!!

Current WWE and former WWE: JBL, Warrior, Cena, HHH, Holly, Masters Non-WWE: New Jack, Jeff Jarrett, Rob Black, Lizzy Borden No way is New Jack a whipping boy. In fact, if you called him "whipping boy", he'd probably kill you. People are more scared of him than anything. And Rob Black and Lizzie Borden are pure scum. They deserve everything they get, as does Warrior.

And Warrior dosen'y deserve everything he gets, especially from the internet. What has he ever done to you personally?

He has offended me several times, and he is obviously a bit disturbed. Between insulting Bobby Heenan (who I've met several times and who is a super nice guy), Droz, the whole "towelhead and queers" incident and his incoherent rambling, he deserves to get crap. He has also tried to start his own religion, gloated over the death of Davey Boy Smith (which was disgusting) and he's a self-righteous hypocrite who totally deserves everything that he gets.
If you make yourself look like a jackass, you'll be treated like a jackass.

Not that I brought that in to start anything, but it's something I don't get.I'll try to explain how I feel about that. There's two different kinds of stiff. There's the "I wrestle stiff because that's how I work" kind of stiff, which is basically an art form in Japan, that's how guys like Joe and Vader work. And there's the ass head stiff. The, "stupid young'n, you don't take MY spot!" kind of stiff. There have been some pretty clear cases of Holly being a prick (sandbagging Lesnar and so on), so that's part of the reason why I hate him. As for his in-ring work, I don't think too highly of it. Not the worst, nothing to scream home about either. That's the other part. Also, about the stiffing thing, Joe and Vader and so on never did what they do with any sort of malice in mind. Also, Joe is able to take care of the people he works with, in that they usually don't get too f***ed up from his attack. Holly's just being a jerk. A great point. According to Kurt Angle, he himself is one of the stiffest guys out there, not because he's an ass but because he's wary of looking cheesy, so nine times out of ten, he's gonna land a punch rather than pull it so it doesn't come off looking fake. That's a lot different from pounding Rene Dupree to the ground because he got a parking ticket in your rental. And I like Holly anyway. There's something that makes me unable to completely bag on him. He's got some measure of charisma.

i always hated how the IWC will hate guys because of what they do outside the ring. Like hating Holly and JBL for suppossedly being bullies. If no one in WWE cares, what do you care?
I also hate Holly and JBL, but it's because I think they're lame characters, who can't wrestle.

i always hated how the IWC will hate guys because of what they do outside the ring. Like hating Holly and JBL for suppossedly being bullies. If no one in WWE cares, what do you care? Mostly, it's because it makes the WWE look unprofessional. In each of our little hearts (and yes, that includes the die-hard WWE haters out there), we want the WWE to succeed, because that would prove that wrestling is something that should continue to exist. However, unprofessional acts of assholery by certain athletes can lead to people abandoning their craft for a much safer, much more respected craft than wrestling. Without new people to become wrestlers, there's a lack of talent, and with a lack of talent, people get burned out of the business. I can honestly say that I would love to be part of the business, either as an in-ring talent or as a backstage worker (booker would be perfect, as I tend to be a rather good creative writer, from those who read my stuff do), but after reading about, and hearing about, the incidents with JBL and Holly, I'm none too sure that the wrestling business is professional nor even logical. This is just an example, but honestly, would you want to work in a business where you risk being legitimately injured not because it's your job (let's face it, wrestlers get injured) or because of an accident, but because some moron decided that you don't look good tonight, and that's it.

I want to like Bob Holly, I really do. He is athletic, has a unique character, and works well, if a little stiff. I'm only concerned about stiff workers if they don't care about hurting their opponents. I just don't like Bob because his character is a little dull now.

I think Holly's stiffness is hate-worthy because he sacrifices the entertainment of the fans for the SOLE PURPOSE of hurting his opponents. Just look at the guys chops. Instead of the loose, loud chops that hurt a little less and are much more showy, he always uses the side of his hand. It sounds like crap, it looks like crap, and it leaves a nasty-ass bruise on his opponent's chest.
I mean, your job is to give the fans a good show. If, like Angle and Joe, you're stiffing because that's the way you put on the best show, and the other guys know what they're getting into, then fine, go ahead. But Holly stiffs not to make his offense look better, but just to hurt someone. To me, that seems unjustified.

When did Warrior gloat over Davey Boy's death? What did he say? He said that Davey Boy deserved to die and he got what was coming to him because Davey took steroids and he said that he "chose" to die. Here is a quote: Make no mistake about it -- Davey died at 39 years of age because he chose to. The choices he was making led him to an early death. He, and he alone, killed himself prematurely. But few want to accept what is true.
Sad? I mean, make the comparison as many of you already have but would be unwilling to admit -- when Owen died that was sad. He wasn’t treating his life with disrespect and dismissing his responsibilities as a man. He wasn’t intentionally tempting fate or behaving destructively. He was the epitome of what a father, husband and real man should be. He made commitments and was heroically seeing them through. His life was unfortunately taken from him because of a tragic accident. Davey committed a slow, sure, suicide. He was eternally blaming his “falling of the horse” again and again on nothing more than circumstances of his life. Circumstances he kept creating for himself. I read over and over: "I was involved with the Harts for 20 years. It was the worst 20 years I've ever had. I have no intention of having anything to do with them." Why then was he banging his ex-brother-in-law’s bimbo ex-wife? The tragedy of Davey Boy’s loss of life is that he was acting the fool making a tragedy of his life. He chose it, no accident intervened. I don’t mourn the same for Davey’s loss of life as I did for Owen’s.
That's directly from his website.

Anyone who puts their own selfish cravings for drugs or whatever above their responsibilities to their loved ones damn well DOES deserve everything that comes to them. All these f*** ups in wrestling that die young due to various types of drug abuse have themselves and themselves only to blame. Just because Davey Boy,Curt Hennig and others were talented performers it seems to make them untouchable in the eyes of some wrestling fans.

Wow, that may be the first thing the warrior said in the last decade that I both understand and agree with. That makes me worry about my sanity.

The Warrior has been the net's whipping boy for ages.
As has Cena, but I actually don't mind Cena too much...I think the amount of hate the man gets is out of hand, and I'm not even really a fan of the guy!
Another is Hogan, who I don't mind but is on television too damn much in these days (and he's 52!).

...which seeing as he works for the company isn't that much now is it?
Honestly some people. "Hogan's made too many appearances wah wah wah". I tell you who's made too many appearances - Chris Benoit. He's my whipping boy. I mean if you removed ALL the contributions, all the entertaining moments Chris Benoit has provided WWE since he joined then what would we miss? Name one Benoit moment that's going to go down in wrestling legend? When did he last invent the wheel? When was the last time he done anything in any context that people will compare him to the Foley's, Austin's, Rock's, Harts, Hogans, Flairs, or Undertakers of this world? I'll tell you what - NOTHING.
If Chris Benoit retires tomorrow it'll be as significant as The Coach leaving - in fact no scratch that, Coach will actually leave a noticable vacancy on television!!!!!
It was fun to get that off my chest!

What Benoits legendary whippings of OJ arent enough?
OK in all seriousness i think Benoit is one of the guys that are there for their actual wrestling ability instead of entertainment. There are very few that are wrestling only and entertainment happens to slide just a little on. PLus some of Benoits skits i.e. the drinking coffee faster than his match with OJ and using the bathroom faster than his match with OJ, have been very entertaining, at least to me that is.
