Didnt he bust out a 450 Splash at Royal Rumble 1996? I was a BIG Ahmed fan he was just a huge guy that would beat the hell out of people and then hurt his Kidneys.

Ahmed couldn't cut a promo and was a terrible wrestler. He was constantly injuring other people and himself. However, he was over as hell, especially in his '97 feud with the Nation. The most important thing is ALWAYS how over you are with the fans - but he was too unsafe in the ring.

Ahmed came in the WWF with a great look and a ton of potential and got pretty over for the time. He was never a technical great, but he was a decent enough worker at first and could bust out crazy moves for a guy of his size from time to time. Sadly years of either being injured and injuring others quickly destroyed any positives he had. When he refused to drop a match to Kurrgan in early 98 the WWF just figured they were better off letting him go. Considering how he looked when he showed up in WCW they were probably right.

He was a stiff wrestler but as others have stated he had a great look and physique to match his gimmick of being a powerhouse wrestler. The problem I had with Ahmed was how they portrayed Johnson as being on equal footing with Farooq if not better. Simmons was an ex champion established star in WCW and and out of nowhere Johnson was pushed it seemed to equal Farooq in the wrestling world. I remember that concept bothering me at the time.

He was Suge Knight in " Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story". SUGE KNIGHT!!! That alone solidifies how awesome he is for me.

I loved Ahmed. What happened with him sucks (present tense). He was monster swole, he payed Suge Knight in Too Legit, he slammed Yokozuna, and he was Faarooq's only true singles archenemy. That, and he had a wicked powerbomb. But, then, he met Rick James. . . Sometimes, life happens when you're living. God bless you, Tony Norris. I wish you well in your future endeavors.
