I'm watching SummerSlam '98 OnDemand, and WOW are the Oddities over. Considering that today, The Great Khali has been a 2-time World Heavyweight Champion, do you think Kurrgan could have done the same?
In my opinion, Kurrgan is a much better wrestler than Khali EVER will be. He can actually move around the ring, and BEND HIS KNEES to take a bump. Your thoughts?

The Great Khali has been a 2-time World Heavyweight Champion Just the once, thankfully. As for Kurrgan - nowadays, maybe. Khali is really no better than Gonzalez. The title just seemed more prestigious back then. It's surprising that guys like Jake Roberts, Ted DiBiase, and Mr Perfect never won the big one. Nowadays they probably would, especially since there are 2 belts.

Hmm...could have sworn he was a two time champ. Oh well.

I guess with the proper booking you could make anybody champ. It wouldnt seem terribly logical considering how much of the roster was over, how good most of the PPV main events were and the fact Kurrgan could barely get in the ring without it being an epic failure.

Honestly I don't remember the Oddities at all.....
From reading up on them, I can honestly say that take away ICP and the Stern Tie-Ins, and I think they could've had more staying power.

I'll buy that. The Attitude era had such a deep roster, it was easy for Kurrgan to be overlooked. But in the era of thin rosters, since around the brand split, he could have had a more significant run, and if he was the resident giant when Batista, Edge, Rey, Kennedy, and Taker were injured, it wouldn't surprise me if he got the ball. I thought he was a lot better than guys like Luther Reigns, Heidenriech, Nathan Jones or any of the other lame big guys from the recent years. His ring style would probably be more similar to Vladimir Koslov or Ezekiel Jackson, and those guys are good enough on today's roster to not be out of the question in the future.

Kurrgan could no more have been a World Champion than Giant Silva could have been.
The Oddities were a joke of a gimmick that got over seemingly only because they danced and had a Cartman doll.

In the Attitude Era, absolutely not.
In this era, where guys like Khali are given title runs...yes.

I remember reading NEWZ about him coming to WCW to join Team Canada with Storm and Skipper. Silly me though it was really going to happen.

The Kurrgan to Team Canada thing made sense because Jacques Rougeau was in WCW and Kurggan is booked through Rougeau Gym so... Rougeau got Kevin Martel a match on WCW TV once. He got squashed by The Great Muta, but still he was there. Anyways, to answer the question, back then, no. Today, neither. I don't even thing he would join WWE. The fact is, I feel big Kurrgan is perfectly happy making movies and being the ultimate evil in Rougeau Gym. He's about a foot taller than everybody there. But still... www.jacquesrougeau.com/nos-vedettes/geant.php7'2, 375....wow. As tall as the Big Show, but in shape...scary. Speaking of Rougeau... www.jacquesrougeau.com/nos-vedettes/jj-rougeau.phpFuture Legacy Member OMGZ!!!!

Considering the most memorable thing about him was saying "JEEPERS." to Mick Foley, I don't think so.

Oddities were over because of ICP and the awesome theme song they wrote and performed.

He was a big guy but thats about all he could do. He could wrestle ok not that special. I do not think he could have been a world champion. He was just a flash in the pan in my eyes. WWE would had liked him to be a monster heel but it never worked.

Nowadays they probably would, especially since there are 2 belts. Back then, the roster was still split, just never acknowledged. On house shows, one tour would be headlined by the WWE champ, the other would be headlined by the I-C champ. Not that DiBiase should have ever been champ - it really suited his gimmick that the man who could buy anyone and anything never had the big one. Honestly I don't remember the Oddities at all..... From reading up on them, I can honestly say that take away ICP and the Stern Tie-Ins, and I think they could've had more staying power. Take away Sable, the ICP & Stern tie-ins and they wouldn't have been over. Kurrgan was pushed as an unstoppable part of the Truth Commission, but no-one cared, when the Jackyl left and Kurrgan became an Oddity. It was only when Sable arrived and the ICP gave them a catchy entrance that people started taking any notice (until Kurrgan and Giant Silva got into the ring, that is)
