Then again, Brits don't have a choice - for some reason, no-one has the rights to Monday Night Football here.

Read the first post. Or any of the posts before yours. God, the WWE could announce they brought John Lennon and George Harrison back to life, and The Beatles would be hosting RAW, and we'd still get a million posts like this.

Who knew Google and Wikipedia were MYSTERIOUS websites. I don't even watch football, and I knew who he was.

This is obviously WWE's attempt at trying to get some NFL fans to watch the show over the GB-Vikings game. I doubt it will work though. Favre going back to Green Bay is one of the greatest and most interesting stories in years. That games rating is going to be off the charts. The game is in Minnesota, not Green Bay.

There is decent interest in the NFL in the UK. THe NFL wouldn't be playing regular season games there otherwise.

Cockneys will pay to watch any old rubbish hence why the games were sold out.

Although I love US football, the responses in this thread should give you a good idea why the guest host gimmick isn't a great idea for international audiences.

That, and you'd imagine they'd know who Mayweather was given it's not like he only boxes Americans. Shaq is arguably the most famous guy they've had host. Not that people know him because they love him or something, he's just like Mr. T, he's hard to miss.

Why? Is he promoting a shaving product? Are they in Pittsburgh? Does he have a chain of Big Ben restaurants opening up?
It's just not computing...

It's just not computing... a) It's NFL season b) It's a top NFL QB on a show that airs against MNF c) They're in Wilkes Barre, PA. Sure, it's the other end of the state from Pittsburgh, but same state at least... The second one actually makes me wonder how they got this past the NFL. Sometimes sports commissioners are able to shoot down things their players do in non-league/non-football events...

It's just not computing... i think he's plugging a charity foundation of his if i read right elsewhere. and don;t worry Big Ben must have seen what happened to other hosts because it also claims he's bringing his offensive line with him to the show for protection. so if they protect him like they have the past few seasons he should be getting knocked down every segment he's in.

On one hand we have a world famous band who are still widely known and loved 40 years after their prime......and on the other hand you have an American Football player Not a fan of the Beatles but the comparison is not apt Anyway, this is actually the 1st guest host I've never heard of but he'll probably still be better than ZZ Top
