As well as completely and utter annihilate any chance of someone breaking through into the main event any time soon. There's kind of a reason my personal philosophy is that if they unify the World and WWE titles, I'll stop watching. No one is going to watch unless these younger guys come up through a stacked roster. Besides that I'm guessing that some of the top guys will be retired in 5 years anyways. Taker, Show, Jericho, HBK, Edge and Hunter will not be around that much longer I think. Honestly? Given their ages and how dedicated the lot of them seem to be if they stay healthy I could see Trips, Edge, Jericho, and Show all going five to ten years longer. Also, no Batista mention? Pretty sure he's right up there with Michaels and Taker on the "retiring sooner rather than later" front, last we heard. Granted, they don't seem to actually be winding down with him, other than acknowledging the possibility... But yeah. If they were to recombine the shows, guys like Punk and Morrison would be feuding over the Intercontinental title for life while pretty much anyone on the card lower than about Finlay level would probably be fired on the spot.

Monk will be ending soon, right? Maybe USA could use a new Friday night show...

Monk will be ending soon, right? Maybe USA could use a new Friday night show... They're debuting White Collar in a few weeks. Granted it is taking Psych's spot when Psych goes on break, but I'd imagine that Psych and White Collar would ultimately be their Friday lineup. And with USA's success with original programming, White Collar should become a hit.

Roster merge would be a disaster as long as Gewirtz is still writing. Hell, RAW is in danger of being cut too if USA's original stuff (which is hardly "built around wrestling" in the sense that its old lineup is) continues going as is. Burn Notice, Royal Pains et al. seem to be doing quite well and if RAW's ratings continue dropping, USA might consider eliminating a certain show that costs them a great deal in licensing fees in favor of reruns of those if things keep going as they are...

Heck, as of last week MyNetworkTV doesn't even air SD here anymore. They show movies. SD is now airing on the local CW network here on Saturday nights.

Bah! Everybody knows Kane likes Chef Boyardee. Yes, Kane indeed likes Chef Boyardee, but he also fears coffee. Just ask Chris Jericho. I was aware of that. I just I wish I wasn't.

Since my localt MyNet affiliate's been airing high school football games and delayed SD, I haven't had the same opportunity to watch the show, but at the same time I imagine like half the city wondering how they'll ever watch thse young kids play football.
That aside, this is pretty bad. Now that MyNetwork is MySyndicate, you can imagine the numbers for Smackdown aren't going to get any better. So the question is, what happens now? Does WWE chop the block, or do they do their best to shop Smackdown around elsewhere?

They are not going to let an outlet on "free TV" fall through the cracks without a fight.

Question is, where do they go? No way they get a spot on Fox, and UPN doesn't exist anymore. NBC aired Vince's XFL fiasco, didn't they? And they show Tributes to the Troops and SNMEs too. Maybe...just maybe... it should really be cheaper than anything they could put on Saturday.

How about Nickelodeon? WWE has the whole PG rating now, so why not go on a family-oriented network? WWE wants to attract children to the product anyway.

If it's not a network, then what is it?
A Barf Bag? A Fig Newton?

If it's not a network, then what is it? A Barf Bag? A Fig Newton? It's Mexican Stoplight Candy. And it's really cool.

To the person who mentioned TNT...
I know they're mostly comedy now, but what about TBS?
I haven't watched the channel in a while. Do they still do the "Five minutes after" start times?
Imagine...Smackdown, Saturday Nights, 6:05 PM.

I think the time has come for WWE to stop producing Smackdown and cut the roster. The company would be better off with a stacked RAW roster as it would boost the ratings (eventually, not overnight) and most likely boost PPV buys. As well as completely and utter annihilate any chance of someone breaking through into the main event any time soon. There's kind of a reason my personal philosophy is that if they unify the World and WWE titles, I'll stop watching. You say it like someone has a chance to break through the main event. I'm going to one up you - almost no one has a chance to break though into main event until Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, and John Cena retire. That's right - we won't see anyone break through - period.

Yeah on Raw there's a good chance no one will, but to say no one period will is just asinine.

Yeah on Raw there's a good chance no one will, but to say no one period will is just asinine. Technically, yes, Punk did become a World Champion on RAW for the first time, but in no way was he booked like a main eventer. Punk didn't become a LEGIT main eventer until he was drafted to Smackdown, where the likes of Triple H, John Cena and Batista (at the time) where no where around. Could you really see Punk turning heel on RAW and cutting the promos that he cuts, with the amount of airtime to progress his character even further with Triple H, John Cena, Batista, and Randy Orton around? Hell no. Jeff Hardy was on Smackdown when he won his first title, and yes while I'm aware Triple H was around at the time, it was known that Triple H was pushing for Jeff to go into the main event. So yes, Jeff was able to break through the glass ceiling with only Triple H around, although he was lucky that one of the same guys who usually prevents others to break through, was actually pushing him. I'm not saying Jeff would have never been in the main event if it wasn't for Triple H, of course he would have been there eventually.

Because one and/or, but not limited to, being both of those things.
