Without the weekly ratings, I don't see WWE wanting to keep Smackdown on MyNetwork for too much longer. I wouldn't expect them to renew with them past their contract expiring.

Wow, how is the 10th Anniversary of Smackdown gonna air?!
EDIT: Wait, Smackdown will still air for now right?

SmackDown! is still on the air--the main difference is that, on paper, it is in syndication.

Wow, how is the 10th Anniversary of Smackdown gonna air?! EDIT: Wait, Smackdown will still air for now right? Yes, it will still air. Smackdown is now on MyNet, which has changed into a syndicated package ala Retro TV and THISTV and ION, rather than a proper network. Problem with this is MyNet has lost enough affiliates that Smackdown is now the ONLY original programming it has. It would cease to have any real draw without Smackdown.

Currently, both shows are off Fox and NBC, respectively, while the fall shows air. it's the same kind of deal that they do with Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, just with the regular hosts.

I wouldn't be surprised if the contract had an out that allows them to negotiate with other networks and break the deal if something like this happened. WWE signed to be on network TV, MyNet isn't holding up it's end of the deal

This is WWE's chance to put Smackdown on a better network on a better day.

Question is, where do they go? No way they get a spot on Fox, and UPN doesn't exist anymore.
NBC aired Vince's XFL fiasco, didn't they? And they show Tributes to the Troops and SNMEs too.
Maybe...just maybe...

Not sure what network SmackDown should be moved to after its time with MyCursedTV is over, but I say put it on Wednesdays. No sense shuffling or canceling Superstars to put it back on Thursdays and Wednesdays are the night for me when nothing's on anyway.
Granted, I could theoretically see them trying to put it on from 9 to 11 on Thursdays to try and kill Impact - would probably succeed too if they got a decent channel for it.

This is WWE's chance to put Smackdown on a better network on a better day. The better day thing...really, where can they go? Yeah, half a year ago or so they had the Thursday choice, but now Superstars is their choice for that day. I'm sure fewer people would watch it on Saturday than they would on Friday (though you never know, maybe it'd work at 6:00 (or 6:05)). Sundays are PPV nights, so that's a no-go. Only other night would be Wednesday...meaning 4 straight days of WWE.

I could really see that too. It would be interesting to see where they would go. I WGN might be cool with another night of wrestling. Maybe they would go completely weird and shoot for something like ION. ION seems more legit then MyNetwork at this point.

But how will WWE brag about Smackdown beating meaningless programming in the Did You Know segments?

Maybe...just maybe... I think they need to move it to Fox or NBC. I can't even watch it and that makes me mad. It didn't used to be that way. It used to be that even if you didn't have cable, you could still watch wrestling. Nowadays, this isn't the case due to a lack of MNTV.

I hope it means new theme According to this week's spoilers, they do have a new theme and video. It's probably just a mash-up of all the past Smackdown intros. Hopefully I'm wrong though, I can't stand the current theme. Same goes for RAW.
