Beth Phoenix openly complained about having to leave the flagship show.
Triple H saying that SmackDown had great technical wrestlers...like the Great Khali. Part of me wanted Jericho to say, "Well, Raw always has fresh main events...like Cena vs. Orton, never seen that one before!"
And they make it seem like if John Cena goes to SmackDown, his career will basically end.
WWE isn't just burying their B show, they are burying themselves. Why would anyone want to watch SmackDown after hearing all of the superstars say stuff like that?

They've done this before and I've always wondered the same thing. You aren't competing against YOURSELF.
It was like heading to Unforgiven 06, if Cena had lost to Edge has going to SD. They treated it like his funeral, complete with Teddy Long sitting in an empty sky box full of boxes and old cups.

It's not Raw.
Hey, at least they acknowledge it. ECW's just kinda left out to dry. Though that's probably for the best, since ECW's my favorite show while I consider SmackDown basically unwatchable at this point.

It's like if NBC said something like, "Conan is a great show. Yeah, the Fallon show is all right, but you should REALLY go out of your way to watch Conan."

Nobody complains in kayfabe when they go to Raw. People have been drafted to Smackdown and demanded to be traded back!

Nobody complains in kayfabe when they go to Raw. People have been drafted to Smackdown and demanded to be traded back! Well, they did that in real life as well.

We always joke that they don't try to make Raw better, they just try to make Smackdown look like shit so Raw looks better by comparison.
But that stopped being a joke years ago, didn't it?

Hey, even in the Batista vs Khali era I enjoyed SmackDown more than Raw. I have friends that only watch SmackDown. (mostly because they don't have cable, but still.)

Jealousy? Maybe they're worried that a program focused on wrestling is doing better quality wise even though Raw has better ratings but is unbearable?
That's my theory.

I don't know. Smackdown is pretty unwatchable for me, and it has been pretty much since Edge got injured.
I wish RAW would do more with its midcard, but for the most part I like those guys better than who's on Smackdown (JoMo being a notable exception).
ECW has been my favorite WWE show for a long time now, though.

Wow a lot of people here sure are sensitive. On a serious note Who Cares?Obviously the people posting in this thread care. This "who cares" stuff is getting out of hand. It's showing up in damn near every thread these days. Fans should care about the product they're spending their time and money on. Anyway, I was irritated by it myself. They're basically trying to convince their viewers that their own show is bad, which seems like the most assinine thing they could possibly do. I'm guessing the whole thing just stems from Vince being pissy that the "smarks" have been calling SmackDown the best show, despite it not featuring the majority of his golden boys.

i thought Beth had a reasonable reason to be upset.
Beth didn't know she was being traded... i'd be pissed too if it happened out of the blue like that. hell the only way the appeased Melina is by giving her a title shot right away.

I think his point is more "Why does it HAVE to be SmackDown?" For a long, LONG time, most of the IWC has actively WANTED SmackDown to be better than RAW, and it's always personally confused the hell out of me.
