I was looking forward to his debut. I wish TNA would actually sign people before they started promoting them.

Seems odd to me given that Kevin Nash is pretty darn friendly with the Gay community. (Not meant in any bad kinda way. I've got friends in the Gay community in Florida who are friends with Kevin Nash) Edited to add link: www.outsports.com/moresports/20061205nash.htmWell he does have a summer home on Fire Island... Thanks for asking. ;D

Lol. Nice. I only know of fire island from the PCS skits so that really doesn't help the misconception.

It could also be a case of this guy being way too oversensitive. And don't take this as me picking on gays. I'm really not. I have friends who are gay so I know how oversensitive they can get sometimes. How is this even REMOTELY different than if a wrestler refused to work for someone if they were racist? He's not exactly oversensitive to not put his career in someone's hands if he doesn't think he'll be treated fairly. That is the law, not a sensitivity issue.

TNA missed out, the guy combined elements of Goldust, Rico, and Lucha Libre flamboyancy and grace.
Blah. The guy would have been awesome in the x-division, plus he reaches out to a different demo.
Rico showed that a gay character can be over as a face in the USA.

Not sure but I think what the poster meant by over sensitive would be more like a black wrestler quiting a company because he never got the title and then saying oh they must of been racist tht is the only reason when it could of had nothing to do with it. Again just the way I read it whether that is how he meant it or not only the poster can answer. Which I admit is a bit of a stretch. I have always subscribed to the you run your business how you want. If being racist and homophobic and such make you lose business well then that is your loss and you will either rework the way you run your business or continue to lose money.

Yeah I believe this as far as I can through it.
Cassandro just is being whiney and trying to place the blame on someone other than himself.

This situation struck me as similiar to Kayon claiming WWE descriminated against him even though he got a pretty good push until his injury and was dismissed as an attention seeking whiner. Just throwing out another possibility.

Where as Kanyon, like you said, was getting a decent push. Cassandro saw or at least perceived that he would be discriminated against soely due to his sexual prefrences and decided against working for TNA.

I thought Kanyon had a decent WWE run prior to injury. Anyway, this guy wasn't ever in TNA and apparently decided to not work for them because he heard bad stuff about them. Different situation. Besides, didn't Konnan have a lawsuit over race-related issues in regards to medical care? TNA doesn't have a very "tolerant" reputation if you get my drift.

Russo, Sting and AJ Styles are devote christians and homosexualtiy goes against their beliefs. Excuse me but that doesn't mean they're homophobic. What the hell is going on here today? No respect at all. AJ Definitely is. I seem to remember that he even basically said as much in an interview a few years back, citing that part of the reason he switched from trunks to long tights is because the thought of possibly gay fans seeing him in that much undress made him nervous.

Was it the same interview where he was all shocked when a caller told him how popular he was in the gay community?
"The gay community?!?"
Just the way he said it made me crack up, caught him so off guard. I also remember seeing a match of his against Brian Danielson where he called him the f-word.

Didn't Kanyon "come out of the closet" after his WWE run was over? From what I remember, he was already out of the spotlight when I found out about him.
What does being Christian have to do with hating homosexuals? Someone may not be Christian and still hate them. From what I've heard, Muslims are much more intolerant of their lifestyle than Christians.

I wonder if Cassandro's complaint i legitimate or if he's playing the homophobe card as a cop-out? I wouldn't say I'm a homophobe, but sweet Jesus.... That's pretty far out there.

That would be pretty difficult for TNA's audience to accept on a permanent basis.
