I've met the guy, as he's good friends with my cousin (an indy wrestler). He's a cool dude and good for him for not giving in to this homophobia.

Why hasn't this thread been shut down yet? The comment about Russo, Sting, etc. in the first thread surely alone amounts to a rules breach.

When they were introducing him with the name Andromeda, they were sporting a combined Mars/Venus symbol. That hinted more towards a transsexual gimmick than a gay one, imo.
That in and of itself is slightly homophobic; a gay male is still a male. That, i think, was the whole point. They were going for outrageous right from the off.
That said, and under threat of moderation, I have to point out that Christians *generally* aren't huge fans of homosexuality, but homophobia is not exclusive to Christians. In this case, there's really no specifics go to on about who or what may have been homophobic, and it's a word-for-word scenario.
Personally, I think that the combined Mars/Venus/Andromeda thing was as green-light as you get for doing a gay character, so I don't really see how that would've gotten the go ahead if there was a homophobic person in charge.

I'd love if, in either WWE or TNA, during a main event match, the two wrestlers reenact the ending scene to Bruno.
I have no tolerance for homophobia and think it's ridiculous that in the year 2009 it's still such a ridiculous stigma in a sport that's oozing with gayness.
Eh, this thread isn't anywhere near as outrageous as the counterpart "gay" thread over in the WWE forum.

Just because he's gay, it doesn't mean he has to play a gay character and nothing else. With that look, trans wouldn't be much of a reach at all.

Ok, I'm sorry, I'm locking this.
Bad enough we're broaching a religious argument, but now we're making blanket statements like "he's probably overreacting!", or "Jarrett and AJ Styles are homophobes!", blah blah blah.
How about this: WE DON'T KNOW A DAMN THING ABOUT IT. We don't know who said what, we don't know who feels what way about what type of people, we don't know if this guy just had visa issues, or if some people in TNA are homophobes, or if this guy just took something the wrong way, WE HAVE NO FREAKING IDEA.
While the Internet is a fine place for speculation on various issues, it is NOT acceptable in this thread to start speculating on whether or not Cassandro is "overreacting and making excuses", or whether Jarrett, Russo, or whoever are homophobes. Sorry, no dice.
