I haven't seen very much of Misawa's work aside from clips of old All Japan footage, but what I saw was pretty good. When I read about his death I was totally stunned. It's a damn shame.

I'm speechless.
Mitsuharu Misawa was one of the guys whose matches got me interested in puro in the first place and a true legend. I can't believe he's gone. RIP Misawa, my thoughts and prayers go to his friends and family.

Unbelievable. One of the all-time greats, and one of my personal favorite entertainers.

Here's a pic taken from the show. Nothing graphic or anything like that. I spot Kensuke Sasaki, KENTA, Nakajima and I believe Ishimora in the pic.

Not going to lie. I cried.
I was lucky enough to attend the Glory by Honor VI weekend in Philadelphia and New York City. My friend and I, being the Misawa marks we are, could not afford to miss it and made the trip from Newfoundland. It was worth it. One million times. I shook the man's hand and he even signed my Emerald Flowsion shirt, an item I will never part with.
I don't even have the words right now. What a loss.

For this to happen to any wrestler is a shock, but to such a legend of wrestling itself. I feel truly lucky that 1 year ago to this month I had the opportunity to witness Misawa wrestle.

Terrible. It's weird that things like this don't happen more often, but it really makes you appreciate the work when you realize how safe everyone is in the wrestling world.
RIP Misawa and let's all keep Saito in our thoughts, he's gonna have a rough road ahead.

PRO WRESTLING NOAH FOUNDER MITSUHARU MISAWA PASSES AWAY AFTER IN-RING MISHAP by Mike Johnson @ 10:32 AM on 6/13/2009I am extremely saddened to report that one of the greatest in-ring workers of the modern age and the founder of Pro Wrestling NOAH, Mitsuhau Misawa died earlier this morning (tonight in Japan) following an in-ring accident stemming from a suplex. We will have more shortly. www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=39367&p=1 Wow that's horrible. I really think with the history of head drops in puro now i hope the calm down a bit. One of the greatest wrestlers in the history of puro passes away after a suplex and having a heart attack after the impact. Jeez Saito must feel like shit, like D'lo did but worse. wow, I wonder what happens with NOAH now. This is the equivalent of Jeff Jarrett passing away.

Some names are just synonymous with wrestling's "Fighting Spirit", and Misawa was one of them. Reading in the newsletters and on-line reports about his matches were just as thrilling as actually watching him in the ring.
You didn't even have to be a fan or a regular viewer of puroresu to know he was one of the all-time greats.
Rest in peace, my friend. You've done well for mankind, now you may relax.

This is absolutely stunning news to be waking up to this morning. Misawa was one of Japan's best wrestlers. It's tragic that he's gone so young and under these circumstances.

I hope Saito doesn't get stick for this, it was not his fault and was just a freak circumstance. Hope he is able to go on with his career and isn't haunted by this tragic accident.

One of the greatest wrestlers in the history of puro passes away due to a botched suplex...wow. From what I read on Chris Hero's myspace, it was a fluke accident and no one is at fault. Another report on the SSS boards said it was a routine back suplex which was maybe a 7 on a danger scale of 10. I can't even imagine how Saito feels right now.

I'm going to say this. ALL OF WRESTLING NEEDS A WELLNESS POLICY.
Hell New Japan has a sort of Wellness where they won't let injured wrestlers wrestle or work through the pain, same with All Japan. Where they do have health checks on wrestlers. Though this was all after WWE had enacted their wellness.
Seriously my biggest support of Wellness isn't the steroid witch hunt, it's the part where they do cardio grams, blood test, cat scans, and general physicals monthly to catch ANYTHING wrong with a wrestler.

This is so shocking. I wasn't expecting to wake up to this.
A true legend is gone. Just like that. My heart goes out to his family, his friends, and the entire NOAH organization.
I too was fortunate enough to see Misawa wrestle at GBH VI, and it was a thrill to see him go head-to-head with KENTA. Now, after seeing this, I cherish those minutes just as much as the times when I saw other wrestlers who have departed us wrestle live. Tonight's ROH show is going to be a fairly somber event.
I'm not going to lie, this has been a terrible 3 years for wrestling, and this is just another blow.
Goddamit.
