www.greydogsoftware.com announced they are making TEW 05 freeware only July 1st. So that means if you never bought any of the newer Ryland games, this is your chance to be able to play the 2005 version. I still play TEW 05 from time to time, but will be buying 08 very soon. So if you held off buying those games because it's not free, now you have no excuse to not download 2005.

Is TEW 05 really a lot better than EWR? Does TEW have real rosters, or are they fictional?

08 with the 1991 mod is very good. Territories mod too.

I really enjoy EWR so I'll probably check this out.

I find them too complicated, but that might be because I only have the trial version and don't take much time to get the feel of it. I think I just talked myself into giving it a try.

It takes to much effort to book on TEW. After like three months of game time, I'm burnt out. EWR gets like that, but usually about 2 or 3 years into it.

I still play 2007, but the great times I had in 2005 before I upgraded. The only thing I hate about 07 was the development system, which was great in 05. So yeah, if you're on the fence I can't recommend this highly enough.

I found that it's better to play in small doses. If you try to play for a couple of hours, you'll get annoyed at the tediousness of it.

Erm, can someone explain what this game is to me, style/genre etc?
I saw someone mention Football Manager so it's intrigued me.

Ah right, I've looked over the website and...well it's a bit vague. Do you just work as the booker as such or do you get directly involved in the matches?
