Simple poll, which show did you prefer and why?

Angel
It had a little bit less "camp"
But I loved both.

Massive fan of both, but I always preferred Angel. The darker tone, the gritty nature of it, the chemistry between the cast, the characters, come the last few seasons of each the storylines, less campy episodes (which, even when Angel did them, were generally handled better)... I'll always love Buffy, but I feel Angel surpassed it pretty easily.

I liked both too. But Angel was the better show, it was darker, edgier, had more complex stories and generally was fun to watch
No offence to Buffy cause I always liked it, but she kinda became a whiny b**** in the later seasons to me.
Edit: Why was the word for a female dog not filtered?

I voted Buffy just because it's what I'm watching. I can't really pick though, I like both equally but for different reasons.

Angel, mostly because I didn't watch Buffy.
But even if I did, I'd probably still say Angel.

Both were good, but Buffy was more well rounded with different types of stories. Angel was a darker, and while still good, I can't watch as many episodes in one sitting when I break out the DVDs. Really it's all one series anyway though.

Angel was the better show. I get that the Girl Action Show was a bold experiment, but it still didn't work very well, and it got worst after school was dropped from the show. Angel got better as time went on, did a lot of adult subject episodes, and gave us a much better mythology. Plus it was Batman. Who doesn't love Batman?

Damn such a hard choice, I'm just to big of a fan of both. I'd like to think of them as two sides of one coin. Both had the same slump at seasons 4. But after that went back to great stories. I just don't think I can pick.

Angel, though Buffy Seasons 1-3 were SUPERB. Once it went to college, the show went downhill.

I vastly prefer Angel. It was more adult-oriented while still managing to be funny, and it didn't have the girl power ra-ra elements. I'm not saying Buffy is bad, but I just really like Angel more.

Angel overall, but like someone else said both shows' season 4 were slumps from the previous season, though the 2nd half of Angel's 4th season after The Beast came on was better, & in both shows, the 5th seasons were really good( in Angel's case, probably the best)& in Buffy's case, after the not-so-good villian Adam in sea. 4, we got the much better villian Glory

Angel by virtue of the fact that Buffy had season 6 aka "let's make something so damn depressing just for the sake of making it depressing". also the comic feels less fan-fictiony than the Buffy one does (really? Buffy is bisexual now? just smacked of gimmickry and desperation to me).

Buffy very easily.
I not only thought it was better in pretty much every category, but I found David Boreanaz as Angel insufferable. He ended up half-decent, and he absolutely rocked it as Angelous but for the most part he's worse than Keanu Reeves trying to emote. Weird because in everything else I've seen him in he's fine. Looking back at the first season of Buffy I always wonder how they hell he got his job. Yes he's good looking, but surely they could have found someone who could accurately portray someone who had at some time been linked to the human race? He was just awful...

Angel.
Buffy was alright, but I just found Angel to be a more compelling and interesting show.

He was a vampire though. How much emotion could he show? Dude suffered for 200 plus years...

/\ I just realized that Buffy basically told the same story as Twilight, only much better.
