For some sequels/prequels, we wish them to happen, and you know what, we actually get some of them. Doesn't mean we didn't also wish for a Movie Gift Return.
Star Wars prequels Terminator 3 and Salvation the Matrix sequels
Any others?

Even though it's a whole series, it's still a horrible sequel:
Dragon Ball GT.

Saying the Star Wars prequels is cliche I suppose, but those films just had so many Goddamn problems it's staggering.

From the edited original films to the sequels and throw in Indian Jones 4 for good measure.

Live Free and Die Hard was a good movie and I disagree that it should be axed.
As for the Star Wars prequels they could of used a couple more years in the oven just like the Matrix sequels should of got.
I for one think Spider-Man 3 and X-Men 3 should be taken out of lore based on how stupid every single part of those movies were.

Yeah, it's amazing how much the prequels have just killed my sheer love for Star Wars.
I was a total Star Wars fanboy when I hit my early teenage years and the Special Editions came out, which is amusingly why I didn't hate the Special Editions at first (I've since changed my tune). It was so exciting finally seeing the films in theaters and knowing three more were on the horizon. I just jumped head first into everything: The Expanded Universe (which was just coming off of Shadows of the Empire), the action figures (which were hot again with the relaunched Kenner line), and just about everything I could get my hands on. It was awesome.
Then Star Wars Episode I came out and I pretended to like it for a solid six months before I just finally admitted it sucked. It still didn't hinder my love for the franchise though. No, that was Episode II (which I still feel was even worse than Episode I). Then 2004 came out and inserted the prequel elements into the original trilogy, meaning I can't even pretend they don't exist like I can with other movie franchises and their poor sequels.
Moving on from Star Wars, I'll be forward-thinking and say Ghostbusters III. Just leave well enough alone and leave a classic franchise in the past where it belongs. I thought the video game was a brilliant way of doing a follow-up (having it be in 1991 and keep it close to the heart of the originals) even if the execution itself left a little to be desired, but a full-fledged film set in the present? Besides, it's not like Ghostbusters II itself was even on par with the original. I enjoy it for what is is, but it's only about 50% as enjoyable.

All of the SAW sequels. I was at a used game/video store earlier tonight and they had an entire rack with nothing but SAW movies, and I gazed upon it and realized that there is no hope for our civilization.

Kind of cheating but throw in Buffy season 4-7. Seasons 1-3 are fine and enjoyable and the show should of ended there. Instead they dragged over the same plot points for another four years. So in a way, four crappy sequel seasons.
Definitely agree on Matrix Revolutions, not so much on Reloaded. Reloaded is brash, overblown and stupid (five minute rave/sex scenes anyone?) but at least it made you think or say you've seen something slightly original by the end of it.
Revolutions of the other hand is probably the most boring, cliched and uninspired film I have ever seen.

As far as the SW prequels are concerned, I highly recommend RedLetterMedia's recent review of Phantom Menace. It's one of the most insightful and absolutely hilarious reviews I've ever seen, and really highlights all of the film's many, many problems in a better way than I ever could.
There are a few things to note before you watch it though. The first is that it's 70 minutes long. The second is that the reviewer himself is a fictional character who's been developing over the course of these videos, so I suggest watching his reviews of the Next Gen Star Trek films before jumping into this one so you'll have a better understanding of it. The third thing to note is that his sense of humour very dark, so that may be off putting for some people. All that said, if you have some spare time on your hands seriously consider checking out his work.

I think that the prequels could have been SO much better. Here we had the most terrifying character in science fiction, and we finally get to see what made him turn. It would be almost like a reflection of Luke Skywalker and how his trials could have gone horribly wrong.
Instead we got YIPEE, way too much cgi, random characters that had no bearing on the original trilogy (Seriously? ONE Tarkin cameo? We get Jar Jar instead?), and it was too light. We had potential for one of the darkest periods in the galaxy, and Lucas decided to only incorporate that in to Revenge of the Sith. Which, in my opinion, is what makes Sith a quality film.
I'm going to have to go and say the first two Star Wars prequels then, but that's not to discount T3 (WAY TO SHIT ON THE GREATEST ACTION FILM OF ALL TIME BY SAYING "lol judgement day did happen lol" ASSHOLES).
