Yes I for one am buying it. Remember that the campaign to stop Leona Lewis nearly managed it. Internet sales alone got the song to number 2. More and more people are sick of seeing the winner of a karaoke show get number 1 by default. And this time it's an awesome song that's in the running. So yeah, suck my ass Simon. Killing In The Name for Chrsitmas Number 1.

I'm not paying for that song twice, I've had that CD for years.

Hell no. I love the first album but I don't need any reason to give Zack De La Jagoff a platform to rant his psychotic beliefs.

I'm buying both Killing In The Name and the original Don't Stop Believin'.
Remember when Christmas singles had something to do with Christmas? If it was up to me, it would be between Wizzard, Slade, Band Aid, and (dare I say it knowing how much hate this song gets?) Paul McCartney every year.
Although I hate to say it. But I looked at the current bookies' odds. The X Factor winner is favourite with 7/2 (£1.29 payout to every pound you bet), and Rage are in second, yet WAY behind with 6/1 (£7 for every £1)
Even in second place, no one seems to have faith in them.
Edit: Robbie Williams is still alive? I assumed he crawled into a gutter a few years ago.

I found the "Greatest Christmas Album In The World... Ever" (1996 reissue, the best one) in Oxfam today and I'm listening to it.

I find it strange that people still think the Top 10 means something.
It doesn't, it just reflects what's popular at the moment. Hell, it's been like that WAY before any of the talent shows came along. Elvis was popular, his songs went to number one. Mr Blobby was popular so his song went to number one.
If it's an X-Factor Winner or an indie group, so be it. Music has grown much, much bigger and it doesn't need to be restricted by album and single charts.
So yeah, I'm thinking 'Facebook Fad' until I see otherwise.

It's really just a way to try and embarrass Simon Cowell, which would be the greatest christmas present of all the times, one not even Noel Edmonds himself could top.

Its never been easier to get a No.1 single.

What the hell is "Christmas Number 1" and why does it matter? Is somebody sitting all you Brits down, tying you up, and forcing you to listen to this "number 1" song on loop for 24 hours or something?

Is somebody sitting all you Brits down, tying you up, and forcing you to listen to this "number 1" song on loop for 24 hours or something? It's a bit of a tradition over here. The Christmas number one is generally the biggest selling song of the year. It also appears to be one of the prizes for winning the X Factor as the last 4 years it's been won by Simon Cowell's Singstar Tournament winner.

Ummmm...I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but doesn't it only count if you buy it in the UK?
Because if it works in the US, too...I don't have a copy of the song, and I love watching the sappy pop crap fail.

As an American, I guess my purchase wouldn't count.
If you are British, though, please buy it. We need to counteract Cowell's straglehold on music.

I'm doing it, but by the way, even if this sells more than the X Factor, the X Factor will still reach number one...
just saying
