Or are the best ones Track and Field like unlicensed games? Any good Winter Olympic ones?

The best ones are unlicensed.
DecAthlete and Winter Heat, in particular.

The demo for Vancouver 2010's pretty promising, IMO.

I remember playing a video game for Sydney's olympics on my friends playstation. I remember it being quality.
ALSO: I think there was Gretzky Olympic Hockey for the n64...I could have the title wrong. That game kicked ass!

I personally enjoyed the first "Mario and Sonic" Olympic game, if that counts.

Vancouver is looking promising, for sure.

(Granted, it was because it was a total rehash of Gretzky's. I have U.S. Gold's Olympic Gold Barcelona '92 for the Genesis. No idea how it plays (besides that it's apparently mostly button mashing.) I bought because it was 50 cents. I guess most Olympic games are button mashers. I do remember one somewhat good one for the DC my friend had. Sydney 2000. (His mom bought it for him because she found it let you throw Javelin and he did that on track.)

I personally enjoyed the first "Mario and Sonic" Olympic game, if that counts. I found the first one somewhat fun but still very, very drab. The Winter Games sequel is a huge step up in my opinion, though; it feels a lot more whimsical and just plain fun as any good mascot game should be. I think that's probably something that's stopped most of the "official" games from enjoying quite the same popularity - as in the official titles there is often that fine line between "fun game" and "uber realistic simulation of the olympics" that they can't always grasp. But here's hoping someday Track & Field will be outdone without mimicking the button mashing system that was once pretty nifty.

Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I enjoy the 1994 Winter Olympic game for Genesis <_<

Once I repurchase my Wii (had to sell it for a downpayment on a car) I'll have to get that one.

For me, nothing will ever beat Track & Field. Another good unlicensed one is Summer Athletics though. Has quite a few different events to play.

I personally enjoyed the first "Mario and Sonic" Olympic game, if that counts. THIS. Me and my best friends settle every arguement with a round of this game
