I will defend Caldwell here. It isn't that he necessarily thought that Peyton would get hurt, but if you are going for the win, then you also play the O-line starters, which he could not even do at the start of the damned game. If Jeff Saturday got hurt, then the Super Bowl is out of reach this season. I imagine that they would say that as well. But the Colts were doing just fine when Manning was in the game even with said O-line, they had just come off a TD-scoring drive. If it's one thing a playoff team needs it's momentum, and not only did the Colts choose to stop their own momentum, they have also now created a distraction for their team, if not a rift between the players and the coach for that decision. Injury possibilities or not, resting players has never benefited Indy, and there's no player on a 14-0 team, let alone an 0-14 team, that wants to be pulled out against their will.

a 50 yard field goal to win the game for the Eagles would be great for me. or do that and then a huge TD pass to Marshall for the Broncos to win.

You know what's crazy...I mentioned this a while back, but it still applies
If Dallas wins their next two games, Arizona beats Green Bay at home, and the Vikings lose their last two games the Dallas Cowboys get a first round bye.

Okay, so now: Denver wins, it'll be them and the Jets. Denver loses, it'll be the Jets and the Ravens. Like I said, we need a flowchart. *using Yahoo! Sports' playoff generator* If Denver loses to the Iggles, it'll be Jets and Ravens heading into the final week. In that final week, if either team loses, Steelers go in. If both teams lose, it is Denver and Pitt. If Denver beats the Iggles, it'll Denver and Jets in week 17. In week 17, if either team loses, the Ravens get in. If both lose, Ravens and Steelers. What about the Texans? Are they out even though they're also 8-7?

Well, they did block that PAT, and they did prevent them from making a 2pt conversion. And though we don't know if Painter is really that bad, the Jets made it look like that. So yeah, I guess the Jets do deserve some credit. I agree with this. The Jets were hanging tough with the Colts, and may have just beat them straight up. Too bad we didn't get to see it as the Jets were given the gift of taking the best player at the most important position away and giving it to a guy who hasn't played an NFL game in his career. Hey, if I were a Jets fan I'd take it. No shame on their part. All the shame belongs to either Bill Polian or Jim Caldwell, or maybe both.

They need all of the following: - Jets to lose one game (ie against the Bengals) - Baltimore OR Denver to lose out - Miami to beat Pittsburgh

Also, AMAZINGLY, Jacksonville, Houston, and Miami are STILL technically in the playoff race!
Even more amazing that Miami is still in, considering how prior to this game, the playoff generator only had them in the playoffs only when I had it set up that the Jets lost to the Colts.

Maybe, but Saturday and most of the first unit on the line were out there when we got to see the "awesomeness" of Curtis Painter. Beat me to it. They even made reference on the broadcast about how the starting O-Line was still mostly in tact with Painter out there. It all just makes no sense. Yeah, but Clark, Wayne, and Collie were no where to be seen. Addai did not play but one drive after his TD, and it was not because he was hurt. This game was never about going for the win. The point from the opening kick-off was to make sure that the starters got in enough reps to keep their rhythm and to give key backups needed reps. Charlie Johnson and Pierre Garcon would have played if winning was important. What's more, at which point would pulling the starters been appropriate? This team had came back from 17 down in the 4th at least once this year, and against a better team that the Jets. They were in the lead in the third. They did what they wanted in the game. No, they did not win, but that is not that big a deal in the end. For those that feel as though the Colts handed the Jets a playoff spot, they were only in that spot because a lot of other teams choked big time. Get over it.

Dallas would need Green Bay to win. If Dallas wins out, the Vikings lose out, and Green Bay wins, Dallas gets the #2 seed. If Dallas wins out, the Vikings out lose, and Zona wins, Zona gets the #2 seed. At least that's what Yahoo's Scenario Generator says. Of course, the Vikings get to play Jay Cutler in prime time tomorrow night, so none of this will matter.

Alright! All that's left is a 44-6 blowout against Dallas.
