What are some notable celebrities whose careers (film or tv) have come back in big ways? While he's not exactly a huge star, i'd say the American Pie films definitely helped Eugene Levy's career for example.

Kiefer Sutherland
Before 2001, he was just some actor who had one known role (Lost Boys) and was mainly playing small parts and hanging on his father's name. Now he's Jack F'n Bauer.

One more vote for Robert Downey Jr and Mickey Rourke.
But I'll also add Sylvester Stallone.

Jason Bateman - "Teen" star of the 80s. Nothing really happens in the 90s. Arrested Development comes around and now he has some steady work in movies like Juno, Hancock and Up In The Air.

If it was for music, I could name a ton. For actor, I can only think of Stallone.
What did Neil PAtrick Harris do again? I only remember him in the Harold and Kumar films and I doubt this was a big comeback.

I'd argue that William Shatner and Chuck Norris have been more popular this decade than in the 90's
