» Of the WWE stars to have their pushes halted in recent weeks (Dolph Ziggler/Jack Swagger), Eric Escobar is going through the quickest demise of them all. Not that his stock was particularly high to begin with considering he had been in developmental for a number of years, but the company has pretty much given up on him mere weeks after his WWE debut as a result of his failure to impress. While he's tall and has a good look, he lacks charisma and the feeling is he has done nothing to prove he belongs.
According to sources backstage, WWE officials have lost a lot of faith in Melina since her transfer over to the RAW brand last month.
We need to start keeping a tally of all the people they are giving up on.
Dolph Ziggler Jack Swagger Eric Escobar Melina
You can always have Carlito on this list, the way he's yo-yo'd around.
Soon, this list will probably include everyone not named Cena, Taker, HHH, Michaels, and Orton.
I love that Melina was moved to RAW BECAUSE of how high they were on her.
And with Escobar, he hasn't gotten a chance to do anything yet. But let's not let that stand in their way of knowing. Apparently sitting next to Vickie Guerrero a few times and having a match with Matt Hardy is proof enough.
They give up on people WAAAAAAAAAAAAY to fast.
Just ask Kizarny, or Hade Vansen, or Ryan Braddock, or Shawn Spears, or Colt Cabana....this could be a long list.

Normally I'd complain about this lack of creativity from the WWE, but I really do dislike Escobar. He has one of the most generic looks I've ever seen, he's average at best in the ring, and his mic skills (the amount he's been allowed, atleast) haven't impressed me.

Why they had any faith in Escobar to begin with baffles me.

I brought up recently with Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger that it was made up (even predicting the Jack Swagger report 2 days before it happened). The formula is easy.
If you notice someone is losing and/or on the bad end of some issues, then WWE likely has lost faith, or never had any faith in them. There is evidence of proof, including the issues with guys released who weren't given the chance. But, it can also be easy to make up news stories like this.
With Eric Escobar, he seemed to get a good reaction, being that he's now away from Vickie Guerrero, and making digs on everyone's most hated female. And with a handicap match against the Hart Dynasty, and fighting a pretty good match, that can help get sympathy for him.
As for Melina, the one reason why I hate internet reporting is this nonsense. I mean, usually in making posts like this, they at least put in some filler. Hell, with Escobar, they at least brought up his long tenure in developmental (one of the reasons I don't want him released, because he worked hard to get where he is). There is no mention as to why with Melina. At least with Escobar, there's somewhat of a reason.
And to say that Escobar has done nothing to prove where he belongs, I call bullshit. He's worked his ass off to get where he is.

Esssssscobar hasn't even won a match clean yet. all of his wins have been by roll up, roll up by way of interference by vicki or throwing them into the ring post. It's not a good sign when a guy who's been debuted for around 4 weeks doesn't even have a freakin finisher!

I heard reports on Observer Live that there's a 18 year old kid in Mississippi that just started in wrestling school that WWE's already given up on because he can't bump well and he hasn't lost his accent yet on the mic.

Is it possible that WWE has SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) that is just causing them to hate everything?
"It's snowing and ratings are going down! Nobody is any good! I hate Ziggler and his silly handshake! He's never going to do anything! Neither is that stupid Escobar! And what's with Melina?! I'M SO MISERABLE!!!"

I just love how, as others have mentioned ad nauseum, the WWE does nothing in the way of character development, or different looks for these kids...they churn out Orton clones or generic looking CAW guys and girls, and then get pissed when the bland as week old white bread wrestlers fail to catch fire with the crowd.
HUH? As for Melina, you could say the same about the women's division too. I mean, who really HAS a character anymore? Maryse? Michelle McCool? And for them, it's Stuck Up Bitch #1 and Stuck Up Bitch #2. There's really not much depth there at all. So how are THEY supposed to connect with people? Melina in particular has been absolutely FAILED by the RAW system. She's had just about ONE chance to speak since she came there, and THAT got interrupted by a beatdown from a Gooker-suited Maryse. God damn it....how can the WWE honestly sit there and think THEY'RE not to blame for at least some of this? Are Creative's heads so far up their own asses that they need a proctologist to do their dental exams? Seriously?

They had faith in escobar before bringing him up? he spent flippin' years in dev! shouldn't they have some clue how he would turn out by now?
While he's not exactly setting the world on fire, I think it's wrong to say he hasn't done anything to earn a spot. See years in dev, flippin'.

If there is any that the WWE have truely given up on then it's MVP. And even then it's not's really 'giving up', it's just that he has missed the main event boat.
I don't actually think the WWE gives up on anyone, rather they are stupid and they judge everyone in short amount of time about whether they have the look and the talent. So if you enter a decent-sized feud (Yoshi vs Shelton, Sheamus vs Goldust) then you will be OK, but feuds like Tyler Reks vs ...umm... ... then you will be judged quickly.
Escobar? It's only been 2 weeks but evidently after 4 years of developmental they assumed that he would make a step up right about now.

"WWE have apparently given up on Aurora Rose Levesque after she failed to impress The McMahons. Not that they were particularly high on her in the first place due to her being in the developmental system for 9 months, the feeling is that she has been given 3 years and has still not shown any improvement. Creative currently have nothing for her, and the feeling now is that it is only a matter of time. This is why they brought in Murphy Claire Levesque as a possible replacement one year ago."

I guess seeing as he was getting no reaction by being paired with Vickie, maybe they think he'll get one if he goes against her.
Does seem a bit soon to be "giving up" on the guy. I presume he's going to be put in an angle on SD! where Vickie makes his life miserable.
