Am I the only one to feel sorry for Bobby Lashley?
He is a great newcomer and he really is a great wrestler. He is big, agile, really powerful and very credible as someone, who could really beat most pro wrestlers in a shootfight. And he has been given the chance to become a World Champion. No one would turn such opportunity down.
But since WWE is constantly raping ECW's legacy and we see McMahon's ass absorbing every little bit of what was once an alternative to WWE most ECW fans will NOT accept him as "their" champion.
He is a babyface and is supposed to be cheered, but it seems that the ECW audience does not care for him at best.
But, it is NOT Lashley's fault. They could replace him with Triple H or Cena and either of them would get X-Pac heat BIG TIME no matter if he was face or heel.
They placed Lashley against Sabu (well, not technically since they killed his performance), CM Punk and RVD, which are 3 of the motherf***ing most over guys not only in the new ECW, but in all that is WWE. Fans were longing for one of their heroes to win the strap (Oh damn, I can't say that!) and were let down by having the one face win, that has not yet been over on ECW.
In Kayfabe Lashley was at the right place at the right time. In reality it's the exact opposite. Lashley needs a mouthpiece and a good build-up and that way he could be a future multi-time World Champ on RAW or SMACKDOWN, just not on ECW, which to me seems as some kind of test run division.
So, I feel sorry for Lashley and just hope that he will overcome the heat he will face from ECW fans and really become the future.

I was kind of hoping he'd win the title with Heyman's interference (I knew he would win, so the question was how) and turn heel, with Heyman as his manager. That could have worked out much better I think if he'd have screwed Punk or RVD. But alas, we have face Lashley and Heyman is no more. Yay ECW. They're hardcore, ya know!

They're hardcore, ya know! So they keep telling me. From the spoilers, tonight's ECW show looks like a good 'damage control' broadcast. I wish I could watch it in Canada.

I dont, he's been in WWE for a year and is already champion, he's probably making good money too. That's all I'll say for now.

Lashley's only slightly better than your average musclehead, so I consider him to be pretty damn lucky.

You took the words outta my mouth Serj. Lashley should be thanking his lucky stars to be getting a push instead of other new guys that seem to be more over than he is. So, to answer the question, no I don't feel sorry for Lashley.

i have no clue how anybody can say Lashley is a good wrestler. He has the look and THATS IT. No personality, no charisma, no mic skills, and if you think that clotheslines and a few release suplexes equal a good wrestler, than thats pretty sad. He is where he is because Vince likes that look (because Lashley looks not very different from the Raw and Smackdown champs)

Is it just me, or does the ECW title just not seem credible at all?

Lashley doesn't do anything for me. And yes, the ECW title really doesn't mean a whole lot.

I have nothing against "Abobo" Lashley but seriously who in the hell would buy him as an ECW champion. I guess Vince brought ECW back just so he can humiliate Heyman and the "ECW Originals".
I found it funny when I read that the fans at D2D turned their backs at Lashley when he won the belt. That right there is a bad sign.

Dear ECW audience,
Please... more chants of Goldberg directed at Lashley. All will be good.

I was kind of hoping he'd win the title with Heyman's interference (I knew he would win, so the question was how) and turn heel, with Heyman as his manager.! So the Black Lesnar comparison would be complete... Lashley has being consistently pushed since day 1, so I don't feel sorry for him. Honestly I don't get how the SD! crowd could get behind him... He's not a terrible worker, but I don't find him awesome, nor even remotely interesting/entertaining.

Would the fans be on Bob Sapp's side if it were he as ECW Champ? Because the position Lashley's in now, was originally planned for Sapp.

Is it just me, or does the ECW title just not seem credible at all? It's not just you. It never got the opportunity to be made to look like it was worth something. Before the Elimination Chamber, the only wrestlers who ever seemed to give a crap about the title (storyline wise) were RVD and Sabu. They were the only ones who cut promos and chased Big Show because they wanted the title. Everyone else just seemed to want to go out and cane things or stop their girlfriends from stripping.

It's not Lashley's fault at all, except in that he wanted to go to ECW. I actually like the guy, for what that's worth. I'd like him more if he would make his matches a little different now and then, but he's not awful. He just doesn't make me think "ECW Champion" when I watch him.

Let's be real, Rvd and Sabu may be the most over guys on the ECW brand but they are FAR from being over in the entire WWE. You're going by what people type here. But if you listen to the crowd, Sabu, and Rvd have their cult followings but they are not world wide accepted like Lashley is. Rvd WAS, but he's peaked and done. Lashley also ASKED to go to Ecw. So with that said I DON'T feel sorry for Lashley. He's going to get face heat everywhere he goes except for like 5 cities that are diehard for ECW. One thing we must remember is Rvd is still hot with small legion of diehard Ecw fans but mainstream around the world, WWE fans could give a rats ass about Rvd and Sabu. Rvd and Sabu can go F off for all I care because they ruined their careers when they were at their best. Lashley at least appreciates where he's at and he may not be the most over guy in the company either, but he's pretty over world-wide and he's on top. So no, I don't feel sorry for him and I don't feel sorry for the losers in ECW that ruined their own opportunities. Punk is their future right now

My opinion is this:
Lashley should have won King Booker at Survivor Series, not Batista. A heel Batista should go after Lashley(or maybe a Heel Lashley tries to protect the title) and voila, Smackdown´s history.
Give the title, in ECW, to Lashley that never actually wrestle besides the damn Elimination Chamber is stupid. That´s all.
You want a credible champion?MAKE a credible champion. Make him look like somenone who could win the title. Don´t trown a random wrestler fro ma random brand to have the title. This is stupid, stupid booking. This is like TNA did to Christian, but nobody cares this time. Lashley is in a world of crap right now.
But can you blame him? In Smackdown he would be put in the midcard and that´s it. In ECW he could be a contender and I would buy it. But a champion? CM Punk was more over than him. If WWE really needed a new champion. he was the one.(RVD was the one in fact, but he is in the doghouse after all.) not Lashley that has NOTHING TO DO with this new ECW.
Instead of a champion, we got a guy who won a belt.
I love the new ECW, but the E disagrees with me.
