Yeah, it's a little late...but I had some trouble deciding the order n' stuff. I've been relistening and finding a couple of new albums to consider, sooo yeah. Anyway, if you've seen my threads before, you know the drill. I'll post one album per post...short review on what I thought about it, until we get to number one. So, here goes! Also, band name first, album name in italics. 20. The Appleseed Cast - SagarmathaPretty sweet little album. Definitely leans a little heavier towards their first couple of records. Tons of post-rock influences, and some emo too. It has a wonderful atmosphere and it's full of instrumentals. I'd say the instrumentals probably outweigh songs with vocals on this one, but that's definitely not a bad thing, and something I'd actually expect from these guys. You owe yourselves to listen to this record. It's great.

Aaand now for the next one! 19. The Avett Brothers - I and Love and YouI love this album. The Avett Brothers are who originally got me into alt. country, along with Bright Eyes, so I was pretty psyched for this album. I was totally not disappointed. It's got a wonderful message and a great sound. It's not entirely different from anything else they've ever done, but that's certainly not a bad thing. Just beautiful stuff.

I was trying to get around to listening to the Avett Brothers after some recommendations.
I checked out this Canadian Alt. Country band earlier this year called The Deep Dark Woods; they put out a really good album a couple months back that has some great tunes on it. I'm not sure how it sounds compared to Avett Brothers or Bright Eyes as my experience with those bands is limited, but I think it's some good stuff. Really cool watercolor covers too.

I still need to check out their latest. Still listen to their older albums weekly though. I hope they're at sasquatch again this year.

Dude, you should check out Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, Dead Hot Workshop, The Refreshments, and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers if you like Alt. COuntry.
Clyne is probably my favorite singer/song writer ever, he is just poetic and awesome (and co wrote the King of the Hill theme while int he Refreshments).

Two Tongues was great. Dude, you should check out Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, Dead Hot Workshop, The Refreshments, and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers if you like Alt. Country. I'm already familiar with Son Volt and Uncle Tupelo, and they're pretty excellent. I'll definitely keep the other ones in mind. Thanks.

Yeah, I highly suggest Emery and Pet Lions.
Say Anything was amazing as per the usual. I still have it on ultra spin. New Found Glory was a pleasant surprise, as I didn't so much like Coming Home.

Yeah, I haven't listened to Emery in a couple of years, but I remember digging them. Never heard Pet Lions. Honestly I didn't even realize NFG had a new album, but glad to know they're still going.

I love Emery, great guys, my friend was their drummer for a bit, but their newer stuff leaves me kind of going MEH.
New Found Glory can write some good songs, but they are awful live, and Jordan cannot sing at all without vocal enhancement (I know, I heard him without it) he also looks like a gargoyle.

I posted mine in another thread but here it is again....
1. White Lies - To Lose My Life 2. Biffy Clyro - Only Revolutions 3. Alice In Chains - Black Gives Way To Blue 4. The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die 5. Kasabian - West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum 6. Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown 7. Muse - The Resistance 8. Mastodon - Crack The Skye 9. The Cribs - Ignore The Ignorant 10. Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures
No doubt this list will get changed over time as I find stuff I missed out on. Arctic Monkeys new album for example I've only just started to get into, still some crap tracks on it though.

Digging the list, 4real. Haven't listened to all of those, but the ones I have listened to on yours were quite good. Some of them may or may not have made mine. ...Rajah.com? Anyway, next one! 18. Narrows - New DistancesI hadn't even heard of these guys until around the time the album came out. Just kinda ran into them, and how they were described sounded pretty interesting...so I picked it up. I'm really glad I did, 'cause this album is just awesome. They sort of sound like if Isis and Converge had sex. Narrows would be their baby. Fantastic songwriting, fast when it needs to be, slower when it needs to be...just a very well done album. If I hadn't just now woken up this review probably would've been better...buuut oh well.

17. The Mars Volta - OctahedronI'm gonna start by saying this is my least favourite Mars Volta album. It didn't quite do it for me like the rest of their stuff has. That said, I still think it's pretty f***ing stellar and definitely warrants at least one listen by pretty much anyone. There's not a whole lot else I can say about it, really...it's just an awesome album. It's also very chill, considering who it's by. Seriously though...just great stuff.
