RAW AND TRIBUTE TO THE TROOPS RATINGS by Dave Scherer @ 9:27 PM on 12/22/2009
The 12/21 edition of Raw did a 3.18 rating. The show did identical hours of 3.18. They can't put the heat on Monday Night Football since it only did an 8.4 rating.
The 12/19 edition of AM Raw did a 0.5 rating.
The 12/18 WWE Tribute to the Troops show did a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.4 million viewers overall.
=======================
3.2 for RAW. Wow.

I'm happy it got that high a rating. It is a great thing WWE does for the troops every year.

That's a relief. At least the troops aren't "dead" for the shows, unlike some audiences. Perhaps WWE should play military bases more often? I'm sure the soldiers would be greatful.

That a good wow or a bad wow It's a "Holy crap that show was lucky to get that high of a rating" wow combined with "they were nearly a point higher a few months back" wow. And add in the a wow-based interjection of, "And considering that the Royal Rumble is so late this year, the WWE's "Road to WrestleMania" ratings bump back up to the mid-4's will be delayed, thus offering the Hogan-based TNA special a chance to actually pull in some of those WrestleMania-only fans looking for a fix." TNA won't get anywhere close to a 3.0, but if Raw keeps focusing on two middle-aged men and their mute leprechaun man-slave, the little engine that swerves does have a shot to break a 2, 2-and-a-quarter.

I find the Tribute to the Troops shows boring as all hell. WWE is usually great doing bios and video packages but I think they ALL fall flat when they focus on that show. I have military members in my family deployed now who I know would get a huge kick out of the WWE guys showing up, but IMO it doesnt make for great television and to a point seperates the product on the screen from their base audience.

I'm SHOCKED AM Raw got that high a rating. Out of habit, I tuned in at 2:04 but QUICKLY snapped back into reality when I realized that it was basically a condensed version of the tragedy I witnessed on 12/14.

It's either the Nielsen families have broken remotes or they could stomach more than I could. After the first Little People's Court segment, I lost my will to continue watching and just watched the Giants curb-stomping the Skins on MNF the rest of the way. That episode was so bad, it has made me take a leave of absence from watching the WWE for a month with the possibility of forever after 20+ years. I just feel like I am no longer part of the audience Vince is aiming for.
