I'm happy to have seen Umaga perform on my television screen for the last few years. He may have never been a main eventer, but he always entertained me in the ring. I feel bad for his condition, and I'll be morning his loss if it has occurred as we..

My thoughts go out to his friends and family. Eddie was apart of one of the cooler things i've ever seen in wrestling:

I wasnt his biggest fan, but the man took what could have been an awful gimmick and really made it work.
Not to mention that he was pretty talented for a big man

On a personal note, I am still in shock over this. I never heard a bad story about the man and, he was a constant source of entertainment. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and fellow fans at this time.
Umaga 10:40 forever

I think my favorite match of his had to be him vs. Cena at the Royal Rumble in 2007. Both guys played their parts perfectly, and the whole thing felt like a modern Sting/Vader match in regards to the hot young babyface going against the monster heel.
The thing that most impressed me about him though, the guy managed to get over a thumb to the throat as one of the most effective finishers out there.
In a era where we see the large monsters (Snitsky, Knox, Viscera) Fatu really felt the one who best embodied the spirit of a big bad heel.

...I honestly don't know what to say. I'm in shock. Eddie Fatu was one of my favorite wrestlers when he was in the WWE. He was AMAZING for a man of his size. He easily could've been a WWE/WH Champion. As a wrestling fan, you're never prepared for something like this. God bless him, his fans, and his family. My prayers go out to all of them in this horrific time.

Ill go as far as to say that the Rumble match is my favorite match of the last 5 years

R.I.P Umaga/Rosie/Eddie. Dude was talented and deserved better than what he got. Jamal, not Rosey. Many are getting that confused. Man...sad day. It's always horrible losing members of our wrestling family, but extra sad under these kinds of circumstances. Prayers be to his family.

^^^^ Ditto. Just passing along a house show story with Umaga - Santino Marella was to face Umaga in an IC title match and Santino knew that he was going to get killed. He complained to the ref (Jack Doan) that he wasn't sure about having to have this match. Doan took the mic(!) and said "well, *I*'m sure...." and rang the bell. Insert mangled Marella here. And I know there was a comment about "silly pictures" but this was one I took at a house show earlier this year for a house show tag match (Helms/Khali v. Edge/Umaga). Edge was showing some "unity" with his Samoan "brother".... Always hoped that when Eddie Fatu came back, he'd bring Matt "Rosey" Anoa'i with him. RIP

You know, back when he re-debuted as Umaga the night after WM22, I scoffed at the idea of an "island savage" gimmick in this day and age. Throwback gimmicks rarely work with today's smarter audience. As a matter of fact, I had the gimmick pegged for failure, and figured he'd be released by the end of that year. I ended up eating my own words as he became one of the most over guys on the roster, somehow, some way making a very dated gimmick just flat out WORK. From where I sit, he was the best superheavyweight since Vader (and may have even surpassed him in some respects). So if this is true, we have lost one hell of a worker, and regardless of whether or not it was drugs, a heart attack, whatever, I think everyone here can agree with me when I say that just plain f***ing sucks.

I'll always remember his many great and entertaining matches with Jeff Hardy. Man, those two just had great chemistry in the ring.
