I remember seeing a picture recently of Eddie Fatu with other wrestlers in a pool during Hogan's tour. I thought Hogan might try to bring him to TNA. I guess we'll never know. R.I.P. Pretty sure this is the pic you're talking about:

The video that M-Dirrty posted is what I was talking about in the other thread...he completely stole the show in that match at No Way Out. With guys like Triple H, HBK, JBL, Jericho and Hardy it was Umaga who made the bout memorable. Even more impressive is that with two Elimination Chambers on a single show, one would think that they would run together in your memory. But, his performance was so awesome that I clearly remember it to this day and it really separates out from most of the other Elimination Chambers I've ever seen.
Another thing I forgot to mention in my post in the other thread is the last time I saw Umaga at a WWE live event. It was during an Edge/Jericho main event at a Smackdown taping in Fairborn, OH. This was at the point where CM Punk was trying to cash in his MITB opportunity every chance he got and Umaga was always there to thwart him. Again, Umaga interfered with Punk's attempt to win the World Heavyweight Title from Edge and took a briefcase to the face for his efforts.
Edge and Jeff Hardy were brawling in the crowd...Jericho and Rey Mysterio were fighting it out on the stage...and Punk and Umaga were going at it on the stairs leading up to the concourse. It was a beautiful way to close the show and build towards the Judgment Day PPV.
When Umaga defeated Punk and finally got some mic work in I thought it would lead to a feud with the Undertaker, but alas it never happened. Assuming both were healthy and as close to 100% as possible, I'm sure it would have been a classic.

In recent pictures, he had looked bloated, much more so than he was in his last WWE stint. Doesn't help with heart issues. I'm 28 and around the 300 mark, seeing this, maybe I should take care of myself better.
Of course, knowing he failed Wellness, you can't discount that being a cause too.
But I'll remember a guy that got a gimmick from another era over in a time where fans know all the tricks of the trade and where "reality" is the name of the game. A very talented performer and decent wrestler for his style.

I pray he somehow pulls through this.
This is just tragic. He was still very young and could still perform. It sucks that his life could be taken from him this soon.

RIP Umaga your death hit hme today. He was a good friend of mine while he lived here in Memphis. Him and Rosey along with the Haas Brothers were true characters. I hate that two of my buddies are no longer here.

From F4W:
Umaga update Just to clear things up that have been reported, Eddie Fatu at this point is still alive and in a hospital in Houston. The family is being gathered and without a miraculous recovery, it is just a matter of time. But he has not passed away.
