Sorry if this has been mentioned but you know hjow the WWE could "unretard" Eugene?
Ever see the film Primal Fear with Richard Gere and Ed Norton? Well Norton has a split personality and he uses it to make up this innocent guy who has a murderous alter ego but actually at the end of the film it turns out that the innocent guy is the alter ego. Sorry if i didn't explain it right.
Anyway, what im saying is that Eugene could just start acting normal and start calling himself Nick Dinsmore or whatever and say that he made up the Eugene character to garner sympathy from the fans.
Although i don't know how they could explain Bischoff not knowing about any of it.....
unless Bischoff WAS IN ON IT THE WHOLE TIME MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Yeah, I've always thought this would be a logical way to explain away the Eugene character. But honestly, WWE doesn't seem to really care anymore. Besides, it's been too long at this point for them to say "oh, he was faking it."

Just have Eugene beat Cena for the WWE title next week with a perfect plex and I will mark like a 5 year old.

yeah, I think it's too late for ole' Eugene. The only way to repackage him would be with a mask and maybe even a full body suit of some kind. If he came back as "Trucker Ted" or something, fans would just chant "retard! retard!" non stop.

I doubt the normal WWE crowd could be that cruel The fans would forget about him in a month and he could come back as a superhero and noone would remember (Except maybe a super smark crowd)

If I were in charge of booking, I just wouldn't even try to explain it for a while, just to confuse everyone. Here's my dream scenario for Nick Dinsmore.
Eugene will outsmart someone in a big way to JR's and Lawler's big shock, refuse to make any comments backstage for a while (while acting like a mini HHH in the ring), and then snap on someone because he actually was Nick, Eugene's twin brother who had been living with Eugene and taking care of him most of his adult life. It will turn out that back when Nick in real life got suspended, in kayfabe Eugene just got sick of it all and wanted to quit. Since Nick had been helping Eugene manage his money, he knew what Eugene was tossing away and decided to take advantage of the situation in order to make all that money himself. For the last year or so he had been wrestling in Eugene's place, trying to act as he thought his brother would in the situation, but he now is sick of acting. He now truly understands how cruel people have been to Eugene all these years, and doesn't care to try to entertain them anymore because they do not deserve it. He had learned quite a few things from Eugene over the years (being that Eugene is a wrestling savant), and he now was going to use all those skills to his advantage and the fans could go screw themselves for all he cared.
Not only would it be a complex (but thoroughly believable) character, but it would explain everything, while allowing them to save the Eugene character without damaging it should they need to use it later.

i actually kind of dig this story. it's really complex in all the right ways for THIS smark. but i'm sure a lot of people, especially biz people, ESPECIALLY especially WWE people, will think it's TOO complex in all the wrong ways... and they'd never go for it.
but i'm keeping my fingers crossed for anything half this good to see the light of day.
that said, i actually really like the eugene character, so i'm fine if he just keeps playing retard, or now angry retard. i say that with the utmost respect, because, i mean, that IS what he is playing. and that's fine with me...

Hey, I have another idea for what to do with Eugene: Sorry, I've been making this joke repeatedly all day. I'll tire myself out soon enough.

He can be the pissed-off protective and loving brother of the guy every picks on in some way because they can.

That's a damn genius angle Dr. T. That would something worth turning in for every week.
And your right, while he would act "Heel" towards other wrestlers, to the audience he could still be a face because his actions are based on a nobel cause. It also could lead to a true heel turn if they wanted to, if say Nick goes too far one day kind of like that saying "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

My scenario, which would've worked better pre heel turn, was that some hints were slowly dropped that Eugene was normal, like him in the background doing a Suduko puzzle, then talking normally, etc. until finally someone (doesn't really matter who) reveals that it was all an act. Eugene hits the ring and comes clean with a big speech about how he's not really Eugene the loveable retard, but he couldn't resist the money Bischoff offered him, saying Bischoff figured a wrestling retard would be contraversial. The person who reveals it says that Eugene is nothing more than a con man. This, of course, leads to him teaming up with his former OVW partner and fellow "Con Man"...

That might have been ok, but then they would no longer be able to dig out the Eugene character anytime they needed a comedy character, should they stop regularly using Dinsmore. Kamala can only do it so often.

Don't forget the snorefest "Hide and Seek" with Robert De Niro. He was Dakota Fannings father. Her friend was Charlie and Charlie kept killing people. She told him to kill Charlie if he ever saw him. Yeah it turns out De Niro IS Charlie! so you want Eugene to go on a killing spree and deny anything ever happened despite being caught on camera? nice... That'll go over like Michael Richards preaching at a black church. (GASP!!!) ...... what? too soon? Actually that doesn't sound like a bad idea with Eugene. Either that or sling blade i think would be cool. On that note, if WWE is so into the media and tv these days, how come they haven't had a Doctor gimmick, like Greys Anatomy or Scrubs? Or a cop gimmick (don't mention big bossman cuz its totally different) like Law & Order, or the Unit or NCIS or CSI! That stuff if the hottest stuff on TV. Makes me wonder why they don't try to pick up on it.

All they need to do is give him a haircut, shave his beard and give him some new trunks and boots, let him talk in his regular voice and re-introduce him as Nick Dinsmore. He looks so different cleaned up, see his OWW profile for pics, that most people would never recognize him.

Besides, it's been too long at this point for them to say "oh, he was faking it." Yeah, they had a magical way out of it, and the huged it up big time. Nick Dinsmore could have been a HHH-level heel if they had done that early on. But they felt they could squeeze the character for a few more cents.
