I dip into the Passive-Aggressive technique a bit too often.

I've seen #6 more often than I'd like to. I used to go to a forum filled with people who would threaten to leave on an almost daily basis but never stayed gone longer than a week.

Surprised that Godwins law wasn't on there. What is that? Equating anything to Hitler and Nazi Germany.

Equating anything to Hitler and Nazi Germany. That can apply to pretty much any debate, anywhere though. I don't think it's as particular to the Internet as the others. Awesome list, btw. Too true.

I've seen 2 and 9 more times than I'd like to remember. The worst part is that the offenders always think they're being incredibly clever when they're anything but.

I love that one of the techniques had a guy with Al Davis' picture as an example.

Take a trip to the IMDB forums, and in about 30 minutes you'll probably spot at least 5 of these 11 techniques, 8 on a good day.

#10 is not that good of an example because it is obviously a joke post. One that is better is someone who claims to be a master of 3 different martial arts and wants to kick your ass over the Internet for arguing with him.

Yeah, the internet is full of people training in MMA/UFC. No offense to anyone here that is. I know some actually do, but it's gotten pretty ridiculous over the past few years and the idiots tend to brag about it a lot. Moreso than all the people that "were training to be wrestlers" ten years ago when that was cool. It just reminds me of my friend's private college where they'd come over to the town I live in now and go through "martial arts" training. The one "school" here teaches how to use katanas, nunchucks, etc. Because, you know, that's useful in fights. (We actually do have a fairly credible BJJ school, but also some lame looking "UFC/MMA" school is opening.)

5, 6 and 10 are the most common I think. Most trolls will use all three of them.

They forgot about the one where the guy that's just been refuted hangs on to one small piece of information, and continues to post about it, trying to make that the center of his argument.

Equating anything to Hitler and Nazi Germany. To be more specific, the longer an internet argument goes, the more likely somebody is to compare someone/something to Hitler/The Nazis (and will almost always approach 100%). Also, I know it's horrible, but I laughed WAY too hard at "Koreans are neither a playable race in WoW, nor are they mythical creatures." And yeah, I see #10 and #11 way more often that I'd like to (which is to say, I'd like to never see them at all, but I see them all the freaking time)
