The First Amendment one kills me. Somehow, 'Freedom of speech' means 'Freedom to say whatever I want with no consequences'. I'm not American, but I'm guessing, your First Amendment meant by "Freedom of Speech" is that you're allowed to express your opinions. Like Politics, Racism, heck, even what you think of Hannah Montana's Popularity. I guess it doesn't mean "Act like a tit" I could go into details but that might be bending the rule on politics more than it has already, but yes. You get the gist of it. Anyway, to my story... I had a "friend" on Facebook that committed one that I thought should have been on the list and was the first one I thought of (though you can add the "first admendment" one to her description, she's the kind of person that if she we're on here and was a vet of these boards, she'd post some long rant anyway). And that is this: The people who complain about how arguing on the internet/myspace/facebook is so pathetic and immature, then proceed to go off on a several page argument anyway. The best part is that I could leave a two sentence status in my Facebook profile, then get a message in my inbox about how immature it is to discuss it on Facebook, followed by a message that takes me 15 minutes to read about how wrong I am (on the subject mind you, NOT the fact I bring it up on FB). One day she did just that and without reading it I replied "Look, I didn't read what you sent. You wanna live up to your words, then..." and I proceeded to leave my phone number, my email address, my work hours (she lives closeby), and my school hours and rooms (so she could catch me at lunch or something) so she could argue with me that way. Never responded to it. ;D Though I do have to thank this woman girl in a way...there was a classmate I had a crush on for ages that the argumentative girl was friends with, and one day she ridiculed her all over Facebook for something she did. I one day went completely against my nature and actually replied back with a publicly posted note on Facebook, tagged her, the classmate, and everyone else that knew, and ended it with "Hey _____, call me sometime and I will gladly meet up with you say this verbatim to you through a megaphone in public." Now me and the classmate are very good friends (not dating, though she is dating one of my friends which I am perfectly fine with).

The one they missed, is when people are too lazy to type up something. All they do is quote someone elses thoughtout post, and just put down one word like "This" or "/Thread" or they just post a random picture, which they think is a good contribuation. Heck, nearly half the theads on this forum, contain at least one person doing this. If you can't think of anything to type out, go away until you can think of a good post. I haven't ever done the "This" or /Thread thing, but I'll admit to having posted pictures after a post to show I liked it IE: "I love this thread so much" kitty picture.

This or /Thread is annoying, but isn't really an argument technique IMO.

Even on humour based forums? Like this one. This is a Humour forum? It's the official "Wrestlecrap" forum, so yep.
