Count me in on Lost. I think he's a diamond in the rough that's ready to break out big time. Might as well. The dude is awesome, and I hope to finally see him beat somebody with his spinning roundhouse kick

What??? Young Bucks run part of PWG?? Who said that? They announced it a few months back, I cannot remember who they bought out though. They arent. I asked someone at PWG about it at the last show and they said it wasnt true.

Chris Sabin's out of the tournament due to his nagging neck injury. He's getting replaced by Johnny Goodtime. So now the last match of block D is: Strong vs. Goodtime

I like how they're using more local guys this year. Like how last year they had Brandon Bonham and... hey what ever happened to that guy anyway?

Results, courtesy of the PWG board:
- Excalibur out to kick off the show, reading the new fan guidelines to scattered applause. Tourney entrants out to the ring... everyone's here. A few empty seats, surprisingly.
- Ha, Kendrick skips the annual... great heel move there. Malachi & Ryan Taylor vs. Cutlers up now.
- Cutlers with a spike tombstone. Some sloppiness, especially from Malachi, but a very fun opener. Ryan Taylor got "please come back" chants... I expect he will.
Scott/LTP up now.

Scott with the Big Fat Kill in about ten minutes. Got a little out of sync at the end, but real good, with Scott taking most of the offense and timing LTP's comebacks perfectly. A couple really brilliant spots here.
Omega gets a monster pop for heading to the announce table. It's clear who the crowd wants to take this thing.
Tornado/Matt up now.

Lots of cheating from Nick at ringside, as you might imagine. Fabulous spot of Matt doing the cabbage patch on Tornado to huge heat... Tornado no-sells the dick kick, pimp-slaps Matt and does his own version. Cartwheel flipping backrake by Matt gets even more heat... his calling Tornado "Kunta Kinte" gets what one might call the wrong kind of heat. Nick interferes and gets his f***ing HEAD lariated off by RICK KNOX -- Tornado hits the DND to win it. Brilliant finish. Lots of blown spots here, but the character stuff made it work and then some. We're three for three.
Joey/Cabana up now.

Joey wins with a superkick. Tightest, smoothest match so far... lots of comedy and British matwork, all of which Joey ran with nicely. Both guys were faces to the crowd, so it was on the workers to create heat... they did it.
Nothing mind-blowing so far, but four good, fun, fairly quick matches... exactly what you want out of an undercard. Roddy/Goodtime is next.

Roddy with the Stronghold. Long, back-and-forth match, with Johnny getting in a surprising amount of offense. Well-wrestled with some great moments, but I think it would've gotten over even more if it'd been more one-sided... nobody believed Johnny could win, and Roddy clearly wasn't familiar with Johnny's offense, leading to some stilted moments. Thumbs-up overall, though, no question. PWG can do no wrong right now.
Intermission.

Gatson wins [against Nick Jackson]! Fun, tight, well-wrestled match. Easily the least heat of any match so far, but given that they were put in the deadly post-intermission and that neither gut is established in singles competition, they did real well. Good match.
Aries vs. Kendrick... NOW.

Kendrick over Aries when both hit eachother w/ foreign object & Kendrick landed on Aries. After, they went to bar & had a drink together.
Edit, more details:
Heelapalooza. Dueling heel micwork, dueling hair-pulling, dueling missed knee drops, dueling low blows... you get the picture. Kendrick wins when he accidentally falls on top of Aries after being hit by the ROH belt. Aries and Kendrick then head to the bar, where Kendrick gets a beer and Aries gets WHITE WINE. Match was hurt by some stupid "boring" chants, but a jolly good show. The best all-around performer so far has been Aries by a country mile.
Omega/Steen now... both are monstrously over.

Steen on the mic... punks a drunk idiot in style, puts Omega over. Steen really is stellar on the mic. Omega responds in bizarre, Bosherrific fashion. Steen does some great Bosh material, speaking of which. Long, weird, bad, great mic segment.
Steen uses his fat to get the early advantage... Kenny fights back, but eats a nasty powerbomb onto the ring apron. Omeg gets beat on a for awhile, but hits a desperation dragon suplex that leads to a red-hot comeback... until Steen DDTs the living shit out of him. Kenny bites his way back into control, but Steen smacks him back down in short order. Package piledriver by Steen... OMEGA REVERSES THE PIN FOR THREE! All the matches have been fun, but this was the first one that really meant something. Steen made Omega tonight, once and for all. Great performance by both guys, and MOTN for sure, if you ask me.
Generico/Shelley to end the show.

This was a straight-up workrate indy match -- no underlying issue, no real match story, no real face, no real heel. Three and a half hours into a spot-filled show, you have to be really damn good to get a match like that over. Luckily, these guys are pretty damn good and then some. Shelley wins a f***ing fantastic match... that's all you need to know.
Very good show. No big surprises... Shelley over Generico was the closest thing to an upset, really. The only guy to get a real rub tonight was Omega, but you could argue his won would've meant less if other lower-ranked guys haf also gotten meaningful wins. There were 20-30 empty seats on the night, which strikes me as 100% due to a shit economy... obviously if you're gonna go to one night, Night Two is the play. PWG could maybe have filled the place tonight with a couple more big names, but the expense wouldn't have been worth it. Just the way it goes, really.
Really good stuff, and I'm bummed I can't make it tomorrow. What the f*** do I know, but it tomorrow (especially since it's looking like a Steenerico/Colt/LTP vs. Bucks/Aries/Goodtime eight-man -- holy f***ing shit, that will own). No idea who's gonna take this thing, bit based on the crowd, Omega sure seems like the play.
