GTA starting with the old top down one. I loved wandering and exploring even then. Many hours logged on GTA 2 as well. I even played the London expansion. I've pretty much played all of them thus far except Chinatown Wars, which is on my to do list. Love 'em.

Also, Timesplitters 2. One of my favorite games in the PS2.

I'd like to say that I've probably spent the most time playing Perfect Dark as far as a single game goes. I would play against those bots in multiplayer NONSTOP for a couple of years. Oh man. PD was one of my most favorite games when I was a kid. The bots were awesome and actually had personalities. I just hope they don't screw up the PD XBLA port. Also, I really enjoy Doom if you haven't noticed. Very classic and revolutionary FPS. Without Doom, you wouldn't have your Halo or your Call of Duty. Half-life is another FPS that is amazing to me. Almost as revolutionary as Doom, but not quite. Still really fun though.

But yeah, I'd love it if the PD stuck with the original game design and just implemented better graphics. I had way more fun playing those Special Bots than I have had playing with a bunch of cheaters and racist 12 year olds on XBL.

Most fun? Well, I wouldn't say Final Fantasy I was "Fun." And I've only played 1 and VII, although I'm working on 3 (VI).
So I would have to say Mario and Age of Empires. Well, AOE, as I haven't played a Mario game in the 3-D era.

- The Resident Evil series - The God of War series - The Metal Gear Solid series - The Halo series - The Grand Theft Auto series

Hands down it's the GTA series. I'm completely hooked on it and will be until the day I croak I think - they could release one every month and I'd buy it every month.

Of the ones mentioned already.
Sonic Mario GTA Pokemon Smackdown
Also in the last 2 years, I've gotten loads of enjoyment out of the Ace Attorney series. Can't wait for the latest game out next Friday.

I probably gotta say the Tony Hawk series, except for the last couple of years. I still own 1 and 2 on my Dreamcast and 3 through American Wasteland on the PS2. I played Project 8 and Proving Ground but by that point, the developers just plain gave up on the PS2 in favor of the next-gen versions, which may be good but I wouldn't know as I haven't tried them. Hell, I kinda had high hopes for Ride, even though I'd probably never play it as I refuse to spend $100+ on a fake skateboard. I'm already doing that as it is with fake musical instruments. A close runner up would be the GTA series but only starting with GTA3 up to Vice City Stories. I still haven't played much of GTA4 or any of the DLC. Same here with Tony Hawk, only different platforms. I got into the game when my friend invited me over to play TH2 on his Dreamcast. A few days later, I saw the 64 version on sale at Blockbuster for $20. Having a 64 as my personal console at the time, I made some calls and mowed two yards in a row to get $25 to guy it. When I got home, I popped the blisters on my thumbs with needles, wrapped them up in tape and started playing nonstop. Since then I've amassed 1-3 on the N64, 4-P8 on the XBox and then THAW-Proving Ground on the 360. I even 1000 chivo-ed THAW. (I later gave THAW and P8 for the original XBox to my bro as he got a used one and my nephews like the games). I agree though, I refuse to shell out for Ride. It's a shame too they didn't continue as I think had they gotten on the DLC bandwagon for the series, they'd stand to make decent cash without a ton of investment. If the older games ever hit the Market Place, I'll totally shell out for them as well. I really should try Skate eventually now that I don't have as much brand loyalty to TH due to Ride, but for me Tony Hawk is just mindless fun. Oh and a sidenote, I don't get the "it's not real to skateboarding". It's as real as skateboarding as Street Fighter is to streetfighting.

The AKI wrestling games on 64 - World Tour, Revenge, Wrestlemania 2000, No Mercy, and VPW 2. So many hours and so many memories. I've always wanted to play WCW vs The World and Virtual Pro Wrestling 1, but I have never got the chance. I imagine I'll put hundreds of more hours into these games before it's all over with.
Smackdown games - I buy these every year on released date without fail. Despite not being as good or whatever as the AKI games, this series has given me hundreds of hours of entertainment so I can't complain. I anxiously await 2011 later this year.
Grand Theft Auto - GTA3 was like the second coming for me. The combination of freedom, violence, and storyline was just unimaginable at the time. I had never tried GTA1 or 2 at that point, but of course I immediately got a hold of them after loving 3. And every time after GTA3 I've bought each game on release date. I've even bought all of the clone, but nothing compares to an actual GTA game.
Super Mario - 3 alone could qualify for this. What really needs to be said? Platforming perfection.

Yeah, the AKI games still stand up really well. My friend busted out his N64 last time I visited and we got a few games in, including our traditional 40 man rumble. It was down to his guy vs. my guy vs. a clone of my guy (as we slowly switched out all of the roster). I cheap shotted him right after her dumped a guy, only to get blindsided by the clone and knocked straight out. He got in, threw out the clone and won.
