This is eligible for this board apparently, its after 96!
How come HBK looked really pissed, yelling at Vince, before hastily grabbing the title and walking quickly up the ramo after the bell, if he was in on it with Vince and Brisco all along? Thats never added up to me. Ive just seen it again and his only celebration his holding up the belt right befoe going back through the curtain. Can anyone answer this for me please?

Like mostly everyone else said he didn't want his ass handed to him by bret before he left the company, wouldnt look to good the next night if his face was beaten in making fun of bret on Raw.
ALso if u want to see more on this rent wrestling with shadows or buy it, it was an a and e doc fromback in 98 it got alot of the footage on tape of behind the scenes.

He didn't want Bret to know that he was in on it, so he was acting all WTF so Bret wouldn't catch on. Later, backstage, Bret asks if he was in on it and HBK is like 'f*** no, I have no f***ing idea! Swear to God!' yadda yadda. Also, for a long time, he told the public that he had no idea it was going to happen, so I assume he wanted it to appear to the fans that he was surprised and upset and didn't understand what was going on.

Bret confronted them in the locker room, but didn't try anything because of Hunter, I think. i seriously doubt that was the reason. just look how terrified hhh was trying to get shawn out of the ring. he looks in the ring at bret about 6 times. no exaggeration at all. you have to be pretty shook if you have michaels, vince, brisco, slaughter and security in between you and bret. yet he was so apprehensive he still was uneasy. but bret was so stunned he wasn't paying attention. p.s i've never seen the footage of bret confronting hbk/hhh.. i saw bret and blade talking to shawn and julie cussing out hhh. i dont recall any bret/hhh interaction that night. i honestly think that bret believed shawn. he didnt get official confirmation that shawn was a conspirator until the bret hart midget skit. |

It has been said before, but I'll say it again: Shawn didn't want Bret to kick his ass. So, he acted shocked and upset by the whole thing. Michaels was probably a little uneasy about doing the screwjob, even though he agreed to it.
