Absolutely mindblowing. I could not believe what I just heard, not only once, but TWICE. Who the hell does he think he is talking to? I can't take this company much longer. No offense, but then don't. I had to walk away for a break myself a few times in the past, though I was less offended and more burned out than anything, near 2005. It's supposed to be entertainment, so if you're not entertained, take some time away from it. Either absence will make the heart grow fonder, or it'll be out of sight, out of mind. I know what you mean, but with the Monday Night War's starting up again, I don't want to be missing out on anything good. It's mainly Raw that I have a problem with. I don't really know what's keeping me watching it. But I know for sure, that it's not a monday night complete without ranting about stupid things that happened on Raw .

Cole could have easily said "This is an extremely awful night for Bret Hart" or AT LEAST " One of the worst nights of Bret Hart's life." Those would've been acceptable and would accomplish the same thing. But no. Cole said it was "THE" worst night of Bret Hart's life. Instead of accomplishing what they desired to with a line like that, they instantly made people call bulls*** because we KNOW Bret's had worse nights than this, easily. Spot on. Its nothing I'm going to quit watching Raw over but did irk me.

In a sport where attempted murder is dealt with not in the courts but in the ring, I do beleive that this in fact could have been the wosrt night of Bret Hart's life.

Michael Cole said something stupid. In other news, the sun will rise tomorrow, and the world will continue to spin. Some things, are just facts of life.

That line was incredibly insulting to me as a long-time wrestling fan. I get that every current storyline has to be the biggest, most unbelievable thing the announcers have ever seen, but seriously, the guy only had an "injured" leg. It's not like Bret Hart has never been hurt in the ring before, kayfabe or otherwise. How doe that equate to "the worst night in his life."? I could've forgiven "worst night in Bret Hart's career" even though that also would've been a huge stretch, but not "life." Not after all the real-life stuff and not over an injury angle that was pretty tame anyway.

Cole's a clown of the highest degree, but this really isn't that serious unless you think about it too hard.

In 1936, when the Hindenburg crashed, respected reporter Herbert Morrison (who was covering the event live) said it was, and I quote, "the worst of the worst catastrophes in the world".
A grand total of 36 people died.
Morrison was caught up in the emotion of the moment, and in kayfabe, so was Cole. So instead of being the worst night in Bret Hart's life, it was merely 99.99th percentile. An inaccuracy, yes, burt hardly worth pillorying the man over, doubly so since he was certainly being fed the line.
So cut the damn man a break, and save the scorn for the things Cole deserves it for.

why are people saying they changed that channel when they heard that? that's just silly, it doesn't change the other hour and fify nine minutes of the show.
"michael cole said something stupid, now the main event's gonna suck!"

The commentators say asinine comments every week. That's the way it is. I don't like it, but I'm still gonna watch the show.
Granted, I had to turn the volume down on the commentary for the Bragging Rights PPV, because I couldn't take any more, but I still enjoyed the matches.

Look, we all know it's fake. Still, there are some things you don't say to attempt to not disrespect nor damage anyone's intelligence TOO much. If John Cena as a face lost his world title in NYC and Cole said "THIS IS THE WORST EVENT IN THE HISTORY OF NYC!!" you wouldn't get a little irked?

After many years of watching pro wrestling, what Cole said is relatively tame. If you watched during the Attitude Era and the glory days of ECW, you heard way more offensive things. You haven't been disgusted until you seen a Bruiser Brody memorial card in Puerto Rico featuring his killer, Invader#1 getting big face pops. So HLA and Katie Vick is bad but Cole saying the usual Coleism is a crime against humanity.

I also loved when he said "Bret Hart has touched so many young superstars in the locker room." He made it sound like it was part of some pending investigation.

I also loved when he said "Bret Hart has touched so many young superstars in the locker room." If you substitute Pat Patterson, then that's a truer statement.

Micheal Cole is still the Number One reason why I've watched one Raw and one Pay Per View since last years Wrestlemania.

Marge, if I may, I'd like to play "Devil's Advocate."
And how do we know that more horrible stuff didn't happen during the day, before Raw? Maybe the airline lost Bret's luggage, and he was stuck on the tarmack for 4 hours, and he lost his winning lottery ticket, and one of his kids was expelled for bringing a knife to school, and the president is a Democrat... sure, all those things individually aren't as bad as a death of a close family member, but maybe when you add them all together...?
