Looking back at his US title run in 2007, he was heavily built up to be the next "guy" and I honestly bought every word of it. I thought he would be the next Rock and a future hall of famer, no doubt. Both him and Mr. Anderson were the next big guys to me. But ever since he got the losing streak, it seems now, that he's just another guy on the roster and that's sad. He was a terrific heel and could back it up in the ring, he was over and had a great gimmick. I just don't get what's stopping them from pushing him.
His face run isn't terrible either, it's not that he's a terrible face or anything. He's not as good as he was a heel, but he's still over. It's just... they're not booking him correctly. Take this week for example, they had a red hot feud in The Miz vs MVP that both of them made seem like the US title was THE main title in the business. What happened? They rushed the match at the Royal Rumble because they didn't want those two to be taking the heat away from their John Cena vs Batista match, that started the next night. So now... the feud is dropped, MVP wasn't on Raw and The Miz has now got the tag team titles and is supposedly feuding with Yoshi Tatsu and Goldust.
Everytime, the guy gives good promos and is in a good feud, it's dropped. I don't get it, it's like they don't approve of him getting over or something. His Jack Swagger feud was dropped instantly too and so was the William Regal feud last year. Sure, Mark Henry might team up with him again to go after Show and Miz, that's where I see it going, but I hope not. I hate that Mark Henry is wearing his attires, I really do. MVP's attire used to be unique and different, now it's just another attire, that's getting WORN BY SOMEBODY ELSE. Basically, the face turn and the move to Raw, killed his career to the point where I'm under the impression that unless by some miracle, he could move back to Smackdown, turn heel and perhaps get a world title push. I think the crowd would buy it, definitely.
Looking back now, I see guys like the British Bulldog, Mr. Perfect, Owen Hart, etc. Good guys that never got a chance to hold the gold, and I think in about 10 years or so, I will look back and will be including MVP into this list. I think he fits the mould of a world champion and it's just ridiculous that he never held it. What do you guys think they should do with him?

I absolutely agree. On Smackdown i could see MVP as beind a champion like Edge was, some Coward Heel that sneaks to victory(not EXACTLY like Edge of course)

No way. His flame was put out during that losing streak on SmackDown. And even after that when he won the US title and was starting to get back his momentum, he was moved to Raw and floundered in the midcard (after a teased feud with Orton).
As for who the future is, look no further than The Miz.

I think he could succeed if the WWE didn't neuter his personality when he was turned face. Or take away his tunnel.

MVP is done as far as being a serious threat. He's really not that young of a guy and what heat he did have was gone after the seemingly year long losing streak he had on Smackdown. When you bury a guy that hard, you can't just push him after that.

He stood a chance when he first moved to Raw...then they stuck him with Henry and they both lost all momentum they had coming in.

He had the opportunity to be the next guy in the main event scene, now he is Val Venis, midcard hell is the best he will do.

Honestly, it depends on how his feud with Miz goes. If they continue that at all, otherwise he's slowly slipping into mid-carder for life territory.

I like the hell out of him, but he's done as a Title threat. He's too old to be the kind of guy WWE would put the title on for the first time. He's got 5 or 6 years left in him at best, and I can't see WWE giving him a sustained top-level push after the way they've already jerked him around.

I miss the tunnel.
Also, people got to stop saying that there's no way he'd get a world title push at this age, there's this fella named Steve Austin who you might remember.

I have a bad feeling they missed their shot with him. I think he's the new Carlito. Had some really good heat going as a heel and then had his momentum killed by a lackluster face run. I like him, so I hope to be proved wrong.

I think WWE can get as much out of MVP as they choose to. If they decide to keep him on as a useful midcard wrestler, he will do well in that role. If they were to push him as a main eventer, I think he would deliver there as well. He seems to shine whenever given the chance, but he only gets the chance every once in a while. And with all due respect to the talented Mike Mizanin who many have been calling "the future", I like "Ballin'" better than "I'm Awesome" and MVP is more experienced, has a more interesting personal history, and at present is a more complete wrestler than the Miz. I'm hoping to see their feud continue, and if it does, I'm 100% behind MVP.
Now that I think about it, maybe they should've given Kofi's push to MVP instead. Wouldn't stuff like destroying Orton's car and brawling through the arena seem more in character for MVP than Kofi anyway? I don't think they should try to make MVP into another New Jack or anything, but you have to admit it makes a lot more sense for him to be booked as kind of a violent loose cannon than Kofi Kingston.

No, he's pushing 40 and I really don't see much in him at this point. He's a mid-carder for life, unless he gets released and goes to TNA.

I just thought more about this, and I think maybe they should've given Kofi's push to MVP instead. I don't think they should try to make MVP into another New Jack or anything, but you have to admit it makes a lot more sense for him to be booked as kind of a violent loose cannon than Kofi Kingston. It's like, I'm sure both of them could beat me up, but the idea of getting beaten up by MVP sounds just a little scarier to me. That's exactly my thoughts. MVP is better in the ring, has a better character and is just as, if not more over than Kofi Kingston IMO. Plus, his mic skills blow Kofi's out of the water. And Kofi Kingston is now just a guy, if they gave MVP his push, he wouldn't be getting the conway pop, he'd be the smiley jamaican that everybody liked. I hate to say it, but Kofi Kingston got really really bland and he hasn't been getting great reactions since... survivor series .
